Even 10 days auctions are pushing most customers' patience.
The usual choice is seven days.
The one day auction may mean that the listing is only live for less than 12 hours (It can take up to 24 hours for a listing to 'index' and appear on the site.)
The three day auction is still pretty short, but a lot of people only look at the newly opened and the about to close, so that's something to consider.
However, most sellers don't use auctions at all because most buyers prefer the instant gratification of Buy It Now.
Oh yeah, another thing about selling on eBay. As a new seller, your customer's cleared payments will be Held for 21 days against your good performance.
So your charity will wait nearly two months between listing the item and actually seeing any realization.
