Hi, I have been an ebay member back since the early 2000's almost 1990's. Can't say I am very impressed with ebay and the high fees (about 12 or 15 percent) for poor database that doesn't even work half the time. When I ship an item through paypal, about 60 percent of the time I go back to my ebay account and it's not marked as shipped. So I manually mark it as shipped. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. This has been going on for years. Nothing changes the fact, i.e. company mergers, new year, new staff... it's consistently been broken for years now.
Why I am paying 15 or 12 percent commission to a company that has a broken database system? Also, printing a shipping label only works if I log into paypal's website first before going to my ebay account and clicking "print shipping label". So I find myself wasting my business hours logging in twice to different websites, marking items as shipped twice in different places. Paypal isn't integrated properly with ebay's database and it doesn't matter if the companies are merged as one or not - it has always happened.
p.s. Surprised there are no competitors to ebay that charge a healthy sane commission for sales. LIke, 5 or 3 percent, still would be profitable.
The absolute worst thing for a seller is to log in to his ebay account and see that he has 1 item not shipped, when in fact he has shipped this. Send the c ustomer two packages by mistake? Sure! Thanks ebay for your terrible database programming.
Now how do I contact this ridiculous "virtual" company that has NO bug reporting or error reporting system visible anywhere, nor any email contact form? I am NOT going to sit on the phone and talk to some person about an error that needs to be discussed on PAPER or on EMAIL. Where is your fax number? where is your customer support? It should be illegal for a company to charge 12-15 percent total commission on a sale and not have ANY customer service or error reporting whatsoever. It's a live website for creeps sake! All websites need a contact email for ERRORS! Even the most pathetic small time websites have a contact page. Ebay is a multi million dollar company that no one can contact? Great business plan. Hope to see competitors pop up soon. Not amazon.
