I looked at the Canada Post website, but it's not clear. I says that if a holiday falls on weekend, there will be a one day delay, but I am not sure if they mean Christmas day.

You missed my 2 points.
You are allowed 5% late delivery and still retain TRS status.
More importantly, Ebay could care less how easy it is to fix, they could not be bothered

This is how much Ebay cares about you or I, please read very carefully.

It is one thing that creates Ebay's problems with the actual site

Anything that I've looked at has accounted for the new year day stat but not the other 2.
I sold an item to the US yesterday, the edd is friday dec 30 - January 10th so it is showing 3-9 business days instead of 6-11. THis particular package will have tracking so I can get it scanned today if I want to guarantee that I don't get dinged for a late delivery. But it annoys me that I would have to take it to the outlet today even though it is going to sit there until Wednesday.

Wrong delivery time estimates help increase customer dissatisfaction with their purchase. The where's my stuff problem.
Wrong delivery time estimates starts the Item-Not-Received process too soon.
And because this is a really easy eBay issue to actually fix as compared to a number of their other more complex system problems.
...
I have two pre-Xmas purchases that promised delivery with a last date of December 26 (when Canada Post, FedEx and UPS are not making deliveries). eBay should have been using the correct December 28 for Canada.
...
I agree...I'm not as concerned with a late shipment as having a buyer misled as to the delivery date.
