When using 'pay from bank' how long before the money is taken from account?

When using 'pay from bank' how long before the money is taken from account? 

It looked like it would be instant, but no money has been removed.  Do I need to watch that account to ensure money is left in there for like 2 weeks or something?

If you know how much is involved then make sure you leave

that ammount in your account or you maay be charged

overdraft fees.

I would leave a bit extra in case the exchange rate changes.
