Where do sponsored links come from?

Does anyone know which company has the rights to place the sponsored links that appear at the bottom of search results?

I called eBay support 2x and no one had a clue.

I think they are from Google and/or Yahoo.

No, they are not the adcommerce ones.

We have been on adcommerce since inception. Those ads show up under "sponsored result". I am referring to the ones that show under "sponsored links". On outside of north america sites those links show up even before the adcommerce ones.

Go to ebay.com and type in the search Cox engine

At the bottom of the page you should see our red logo from Cox International. Below that are some sponsored links. Those are what I am referring to.

Don't think they are from Google or Yahoo. I have to look further into this today but I think they are generated by "shopping.com".

At one time, Yahoo had the contract to sell those sponsored advertisements (different program than AdCommerce managed by eBay)

That was 4 years ago, Pierre, but perhaps it's still so today.

My friendly competitor has a site hosted by Yahoo Commerce as well as Google adwords.

However, I could not find any info on either Yahoo and Google about this.

I phoned support and the first rep had no clue but asked if I could give him tips on how to promote his own off-eBay site - that one blew me away. The second rep said the ads were generated via shopping.com.

Sorry, but the posts relate to eBay listings showing up on Google and other eBay "partners".

I already know how that works. Google indexes eBay listings and we show up all over the place on Google.

The "Sponsored Links" is a paid service and I wanted to know which entity to approach and pay for this service in order for our ads show up on the eBay search pages.

We had previously subscribed to Google Adwords so I know it's not coming from there. When I have some time I'll set up a shopping.com account as that is where one eBay rep claimed the ads were coming from.

Sponsored link with eBay is provided by Yahoo!. also they use their own network affiliates partner to drive traffic in adcommerce. Sponsored link also appear those third party link to eBay as a partner, Affiliators. Last time i checked my listing showed up in one of the university college website who advertised Laptop/Desktop for students. they drive traffic in eBay.

2. Sponsored list appear within eBay, provided by Yahoo and private partner of eBay. Google involve in search engines out side of eBay, Within eBay search sponsored Result appear from Adcommerce eBay.
