I've heard so many stories here of problems being reported, and users being NARU'd.

I have never ever personally seen an eBay policy enforced that I have complained about. Here's the newest blatant violation that made me laugh and wonder at the same time:

3180659346 is the auction #; the guy's nick is shitbirdmonkey !!!

Here's eBay's user id policies:

Message: Remember that User IDs:
May contain letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), and/or some symbols
Must be at least two characters long
Can't contain spaces
Can't be obscene, profane, or violate eBay's guidelines
Can't be an email address or Web site
Can't be the same as another sellers' eBay Store name

I reported it over 24 hours ago, and he is still active. I do know if you try to reg a website name, it won't allow it. Surely they have a script in place to check for blatant profanity!

And this guy only regged this a week ago...

I wonder why he was even allowed to register that username at all! I tried putting "shipping was fast - it should be great, thank you" in a feedback, and it told me not to use the word "tits" in a feedback! So how he got a full-blown swear word into his username, I'll never know. He only registered it last week, so it isn't like it's an old name or something! Sheesh!

Depends on who you ask what is considered obscene. Think of the most vulgar word you know and you will find that there is already a seller or buyer with that name on ebay. Try doing a search by seller 5 more times using profanity or predjudice names. Every name in the book is already taken for a sellers or buyers name.

I think eBay registered pretty much every nasty name they could, and never used the accounts. That way, the names are taken and can never be used. Check them out - they all will have (0) feedback and they've been registered for years.
