The 'watch' list is limited to 200 items, active and/or ended. Is it possible that yours is full? (I know I've hit that ceiling a few times.) Or that, perhaps, you weren't logged in at the time you tried to add it? Or that you had inadvertently navigated to another ebay site that you weren't logged into?
