Noob here. If I specify "Canada Post Expedited Parcel - USA" for international shipping, then the shipping calculator works fine when I enter in a USA zipcode. However, this doesn't calculate for other countries. If I change the shipping to be something like XpressPost or International Air Parcel, then I get this annoying message when I enter a US zipcode:

If listing on eBay.ca, in addition to Canada, you need TWO separate shipping options:
1) USA
2) Worldwide

Canada Post Expedited Parcel USA is just for the USA! Why would you think it would give a cost for other countries since they are not the USA?
XpressPost is available for the USA and some other countries, not all. Where XpressPost is not available, International Parcel Air is available. Which is why these services work when Expedited Parcel USA does not.

I think new sellers, who are defaulted to the simplified Sell Your Item form, have only Canada and USA available as destinations.
If you want to sell internationally, and I would never advise a newbie to do so*, you will have to go to the Sell button and look for the Advanced Sell Your Item form in the dropdown menu.
There are many more choices (including the choice of selling in CDN or US dollars) . Take your time with the listing, and review it once it is listed for necessary revisions.
It is also useful to view a new listing on a mobile phone as well as a desktop. More than half of transactions now use phones and our listings look very different on them.
