Most Canadian sellers list in U.S. funds because the majority of our sales go to the U.S. It is also recommended by eBay to do so as the USD is a currency that is recognized worldwide.
You may notice that many items listed by Canadian sellers are offered with free shipping within Canada. Buyers from other countries are usually charged extra for shipping. Some, like myself, also absorb the tax so you save on that too.
The Canadian dollar was high for the past few years and you would have gained on the exchange where international buyers would have paid more. Now it has swung the other way.
