Why is there NOTHING to protect the seller on Ebay ??

Although I don't think I'm anywhere near qualified to answer this question, I'll give it a shot, but I think eBay does try to protect sellers. It's all in the eBay terms.

eBay User Agreement Statessub-headingPurchase Conditions "You are responsible for reading the full item listing, including any instructions the seller provides, before making a bid or commitment to buy. Unless otherwise stated, by making a bid or commitment to buy an item on eBay, you are committing to buy the item from the seller listing the item. If you make a commitment to buy or your bid is the winning bid or is otherwise accepted, you enter into a legally binding contract with the seller and are obligated to purchase the item."

this is from eBay Canada, but the user agreement in the US and other eBay sites is basically the same. What I think it means is that if a seller makes a detailed description and list terms clearly, the buyer is obligated to follow those terms, or not buy from that seller.

If you're asking if eBay goes to bat for sellers, I don't think so, because it's my feeling that eBay believes buyers are their customers. So it's up to the sellers to list their items properly with full details so that buyers can't really, file a dispute unless they are just trying to defraud the seller,  and in that case a seller can (bend over and take it) or fight it.

That's a very general statement.

If you provide some details, maybe you could get an answer.

Why is there NOTHING to protect the seller on Ebay ??

Well, this is what happned. I had 3 different members win items in auction that i had listed. I have it in my listing that payment is due in 3 days. I sent an invoice right after the auction. On the 3rd day i sent another invoice. On the 4th day still no payment. I contacted the buyers and asked if they were still interested in the items. Still no response. Im new to selling on ebay, brand new. I havent even received a cent yet. So being new and not knowing the ropes quite yet, i figured if i open an unpaid item case, they could leave me bad feedback. So what i did was i sent them a cancel transaction. I figured after no payment and no response to emails, that they were not interested. So they could just accept if they dont and decline if they still are interested. They all left me negative feedback. I cannot believe it. Im finished before i even started. Ebay has suspended me indefinitely because of the bad feedback i received from them. I am sick to my stomach. My question was why is there nothing in place to protect the seller. Well i will explain a little more. Now i opened up cancel transactions on all the items, and i got thrown of ebay for selling. If i would of opened unpaid item cases against them. Ebay would of thrown me off because of all the cases opened. So as a seller, if someone dont pay, we have to let it sit there for how ever long it takes and let ebay cancel them and they take their 10% of the total sales. while im here, with no payments and no money, and have to go through the trouble of relisting them again. I spoke with a friend of mine. He had 2 buyers buy from him and wouldnt pay. So he opened 10 unpaid item cases because they would not pay. Ebay threw him off for sending unpaid item cases for the items. So yes, i want to know why we are not protected as sellers. Basically, a buyer can bid on 20 of your items. Win them all. Not pay you for them. They can lie in the feedback they left . And there is nothing we can do as sellers. If i send 15 cancel transactions, you get thrown off ebay. If i send 15 unpaid item cases, i get thrown off ebay. So what are we supposed to do. I didnt mean no harm when i sent the cancel transactions. It makes me feels like im a criminal. And all this could not happen at a more worst time than this. I have been collecting since i was a kid. Right now i have fallen on some hard luck. With no job and no income. and a family. This was a chance for me to try and get my life back a bit and sell off some of the items ive been collecting over the years, to help make ends meet. All this was taken away by a couple of memebers, who think they can bid on your items and not pay. Well i guess they were right. because the only one that paid out of this, is me and my family. Why ?? Why am i not protected as a seller ?? Why ??

Why is there NOTHING to protect the seller on Ebay ??

Thank you my friend for taking the time out. I know that ebay thinks the buyers are everything. But if they have no sellers. You have no buyers. If you have no buyers, you have no ebay. Im still in shock. I just cant believe it. I am a honest person. I didnt do anything wrong. But i honestly do, feel like i have been treated like a criminal. But i see it more and more, the more i look into it. That ebay basically dont give a ratts ass about the sellers. They love their buyers. This has been a experience i will never forget and will never understand i guess. As for fighting it, i called ebay 3 times today. I get the same response. The decision is final. I even told them that its all lies. I said that one guy said he made payment and there was no payment made. I told them to check my paypal and they will see that he did not make payment and that it was lies. There answer, oh im sorry sir, but we do not the police and we dont investigate. Well its awful funny, they investigated me but no the ones that paid. Anyway, These buyers that bought from me and did not pay. I hope you are reading this. Karma will get you guys for what you did to me.

This is the three negatives you got from the non-paying bidder?

Open an Unpaid Item Dispute.

Unless he pays up, he will get a Strike for each unpaid item. Strikes make it more difficult to bid on eBay since so many sellers have an automatic Block against deadbeats.

You will get your selling fees back on the items.

You can have the negative feedbacks removed, since no feedback (negative or positive) can be left after a Dispute is resolved.

Add the bidder to your Blocked Bidder List.

Go to your Seller Preferences and Block bidders with Strikes. Also bidders who do not have active Paypal accounts.

Why is there NOTHING to protect the seller on Ebay ??

Yes thank you for your reply. Ive been fighting this one person for over a month. He keeps opening new accounts. Bids on my items and wins, then they manually mark payment as sent, and leaves me bad feedback. Then i have to call ebay and get it removed. Or he will buy the item, and when they receive it they open cases. I have 70 cases closed in my favor because of this one person. I reported it to ebay about 10 times. When i look the accounts that are fake, they are still there. Where is the seller protection. I just dont know what to do anymore.
