Why would eBay close my case against a seller in their favor!!!!

Hello folks.  Boy am I flipping upset!  A couple of months ago I was stupid enough to try one more time to buy one of those pretty wedding style dresses from a seller in China.  At time of purchase their feedback was 98% and I thought it would be safe to do so.  Was I wrong.  For the first 2 weeks they answered my messages.  I stayed in touch with them because of my concern as to whether the dress would be shipped.  After that they no longer responded even though my purchase showed to be shipped.  It was after that  when I noticed that their feedback  score was going down, down, down.  Some buyers feedback mentioned they received a **bleep**py lace scarf and no dress.  That is what I ended up receiving.  I knew then that I was ripped off.  Because of eBay policies I had to wait to file a item not received case against this lousy seller which I finally was able to do just the other day.  eBay in their infinite wisdom closed the case today and has stated I will not receive my refund because I have received the item.  They stated that they checked my communications with the seller and decided against me.  I don't know what messages they checked.  Maybe the  one where I called the seller a crook and to give me my money back.  Or maybe it's the one where I stated they were terrible and shouldn't be allowed on eBay.  I don't know how eBay could have sided with the  seller at all.  I never received any dress.  Just a cheap scarf worth maybe a buck!!  I also don't know why these sellers from China are able to continue on ripping off buyers like this unchecked.  eBay has done nothing to protect buyers from this serious problem and this has made eBay a less than desirable place to shop!!

If you factor in all the costs with buying and shipping a wedding dress, you should have a good idea of the actual price.  Now if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

As long as there are buyers willing to buy from China, there will always be sellers there, happy to take your money.  Bridal boutiques here that sell beautiful gowns hand made in the orient, have agents there, that deal directly with the makers.  Those dresses are probably not sold on ebay.

I'd have thought, Once bitten, twice shy.
