Will a seller still ship the item if I got a refund and they didn't cancel the transaction?

I purchased an item from a seller that had the item on stock on their listing and he messaged me through email saying that he doesn't have it in stock and that he would contact their suppliers and find out how long it would take to get the item within the next 7 days.  After hearing that I asked the seller to cancel and to get a refund on the money since it's not in stock.  After about 2 days talking to the seller (it seems it's more than 1 person on the account cause different names are used in the messages) I receive a refund but the transaction isn't cancelled.  Does it matter if the transaction is cancelled or not or will they still ship the item to me cause I don't really want to pay shipping fees to return it and never had to ask for a refund before so dunno the process on whether the transaction has to be cancelled or not.

Hi obliviousca,

A refund and a transaction cancellation are usually synonymous. Only Sellers can cancel a transaction - they'll also receive their Final Value Fees back - so I'd sit tight on this one. I doubt they'd still send the item out, given that you've been refunded.

He just shipped me the item today and I was refunded a couple of days before.  In addition 1 of the people under that account said they would send me a cancellation request too and never did yet. I don't want to pay to ship it back cause I find it ridiculous that they shipped it like that and it's their own fault cause they have 2-3 different people messaging me under the same account. I just messaged him asking why he shipped it to me when I have a refund and he said he was going to cancel.
