Won an auction, product now out of stock?

I won 2 auctions from the same seller for the same product ( 2 different sized lots of feathers) and paid for the items. Got a message from the seller a couple of days later to say that they had refunded my money and that the products were now out of stock. I got my money back thankfully but it smells like a scam to me. I bought a grouping of 20 and a grouping of 30 feathers and I did see another listing for 50 feathers as well as some smaller denominations. I think what they did was list the product multiple ways and gave the product the the highest paying auction winner. Can they do this? What kind of feedback is appropriate to leave here? I don't want to accuse as I have no proof but I spent the time bidding and winning these auctions and I am put off but the cancellation after the fact. I would have thought there should be some kind of policy to say that you have to have the actual product on hand to have an auction for it???

Well the seller can not cancel without you agreeing to it...

Well the seller can not cancel without you agreeing to it so if you deny cancellation request they have to eat the fees which would make them pay for your wasted time but then again if the seller was nice enough to write and explain it might be a different scenario..

Maybe leave Neutral feedback stated the calm and factual truth ..

Most should reserve Negs for when something goes very bad like horrible customer service and messed up products with no response or resolution from sellers things of that nature ..

In this case at the end of the day they only wasted what I can only assume as a very little amount of your time ...

If the seller is dropshipping from China, it is entirely possible that her supplier was not able to fill your order. Dropship suppliers are notorious for not informing their suckers/sellers that they are listing unavailable items.

If the seller has a B&M business, or sells on several sites, keeping track of stock can be difficult, but it is her responsibility.

She informed you quickly and refunded your payment immediately.

You may not want to buy from her in future, but if you do, leavng even a neutral feedback might make her decide to put you on her Blocked Bidder List.
