You can't always get what you want, but you can leave appropriate feedback.

The most effective feedback is calm and factual. (CAPS and Exc!amat!on Po!nts! are an automatic fail)

And of course Detailed Seller Ratings. This seller has done poorly on Communication and on As Described. The lowest Rating is ONE.

He set the Best Offer price then claimed it was too low? Sounds like he's begging for negative feedback.

Non paying buyers deserve unpaid item strikes.

Oh, don't agree to the transaction cancellation. There is an option to select that you do not agree to it. The seller cannot get their final value fee credit if you do not agree to the cancellation.

Hello 'domdom',

How does a seller accept two offers for one item?

What you should do depends very much on the type of person you are.  It is entirely your decision.

Two things you want to keep in mind, - 1) any feedback you leave for another person you also leave for yourself.  Whatever you say in feedback will speak far more loudly about you than it will about the recipient.  2) You never want to leave feedback that you later regret, for whatever reason.

For me, I feel when we get all our money back we are no worse for wear.  Given the number of scammers roaming the earth, I tend to view a full refund as a positive experience.  You may see it differently.  I would probably leave none in a case like this.  But you make up your own mind.  You have 60 days in which to leave feedback, so give it a bit of thought.

Best of luck. 🙂

If you do not , through feedback,  reflect that this is unacceptable business practice on eBay he will pull the stunt on other members but the choice is yours.

The seller might 'pull the stunt' on other members, but given how block-happy so many sellers are I do not feel it is in any buyer's best interest to leave a neg every time he doesn't get his own way.  A buyer would be foolish to protect 'other members' whilst damaging his own outgoing feedback.

Some sellers really deserve negs;  I believe those who refund do not.  But that's me.;-)

Ebay changed the system so that buyers did not have to " fear" leaving honest, factual feedback.

This is not an instance of " buyer getting their own way".  Seller reneged for a reason that is a clear violation of eBay policy. Are all violations to be ignored?:|

I believe that a seller in clear violation of eBay policy does not deserve positive feedback. This seller accepted the buyer's best offer, then backed out of the deal and refused to sell to the buyer.

Yes, 'scifan', you are absolutely right, - this seller does not deserve positive, not in my opinion.  That's why I leave none in these kinds of situations. 🙂

Buyers no longer fear receiving negatives - even untrue ones - as retaliation,  but  if they are too quick to leave negs for sellers as a result of every inconvenience, they may find their bids removed from auctions and that they've been blocked from many sellers' items.

Even leaving a positive and low DSRs, - smaller sellers can see who left what for DSRs so a buyer should only ever do that if he never wants to buy from that seller again.  Not that it would be possible anyway, as he'll be blocked.

Policy violations which are deemed so egregious as to be intolerable can be reported to ebay if necessary.  A buyer who leaves too many negatives ultimately damages his own reputation.  Unwise, in my opinion.
