got a message from a potential buyer saying he tried to bid on several item yet it wouldn't let him bid and the auction was set to world wide. on top of that my shipping calculator isn't working on any of my items and when I post 10 items for sale I click on my own profile and click on view all items from this seller(myself) they don't all show up.... is ebay regulating me and why am I restricted to this??? pain having 30 messages about shipping quotes and not seeing all my items on auction let alone to get a message after the auction saying that ebay cost me a bunch of money because he wanted to bid on my auctions.... not impressed!

The most common problem when the shipping calculator is not showing a price is that the  dimensions of the shipping service don't meet the minimum requirements but it will not show a shipping price.  The calculator won't tell you that when you are listing so it is up to you to make sure that the correct information is there. One way to do that is to look at the Canada Post website ahead of time to see what the requirements are and to check your listings once they are listed to see how the shipping prices are working out.

The Smartwatch listing shows that you ship to Canada and the U.S. only but the US shipping price isn't working. If you are using expedited USA, your dimensions may be too small. The minimum for that service is 21cm x 14cm x .5cm.  The minimum for Canada Post expedited is smaller - 10cm x 7cm x.1cm

The Traxxas listing shows worldwide shipping but it looks as if only Canada and the U.S. are showing shipping prices. What service do you have listed for the other countries? I would suggest that for that listing you put in the title As Is For Parts Only. Many people won't bother to read the listing information and will assume that the item works.

For the fishing items that have already ended... It is really overkill to use the most expensive Canada Post service Xpresspost for items that you are starting out at under $10. If they are under 2cm thick, you could use lettermail within Canada and light packet USA to the U.S and light packet international everywhere else. If the package will be thicker than that, you will have to use expedited within Canada but you can use small packet air to the U.S. and everywhere else.

On those listings you are using xpresspost for countries overseas and not all countries have that service which is why your shipping cost is not showing up.  The U.S. shipping price is not showing either and that is probably another dimension problem.

Deciding which shipping services to use is probably one of the most complicated parts about selling here but if you post on the seller central board, the sellers there will be able to answer your questions.

Take a look at your Seller Preferences.

You may have set an automatic Block on bidders with two or more Strikes for Unpaid Items. The buyer doesn't know about these blocks until he tries to bid.

And really you don't want him to.

You can also set automatic Blocks on those without active Paypal accounts (usually newbies and /or 0 FB), bids from countries you don't want to ship to, and those with other Violations of the eBay Agreement.

Thanks for the reply. Shipping can be rather tricky. I think I have it figured out now. I don't have any blocks set as I still don't know why he couldn't bid but it is a good idea to set some blocks, thanks. In the process of figuring out the ins and outs of eBay and other means of online sales as I'd like to start an online import /export business. Figure I'd try to sell some old items I have laying around the shop just to sort all the bugs out so thanks again for the replies. Cheers
