buyer says bad dsr was accident

Greetings all. Got a bad dsr for shipping cost in out most recent feedback from a buyer a few days ago. Has to be this one since last buyer feedback was march 22 and we keep track of stats daily. Buyer says in an ebay message that the apple app made him do it by mistake and he had no intention of doing it. Item was a bicycle part. Shipping charged was $1.99, actual light packet cost was $5.70 as shown on the shipping label.

Is customer service still being stupid about this and not changing it when called despite the ebay message?

Well they have now fixed it. We are back to all 5 stars again. One needs to be persistent when calling them.

"queried the buyer" This also keeps the buyer from accidentally doing it again with other sellers. So in the end we made a difference however small it is better than before. We truly believe it was an accident.

Not all of us are content with the 4.9's across the board.

I would have to say 'yes' but the DSRs don't mean anything at all anymore, they must have told you that. Except that DSRa reflect a score poorly on a seller's feedback page. Assuming you had asked to have it changed, what reason did the Rep have for not doing as you asked?

Just got off the phone with ebay again. They refuse to change it. The guy on the phone told me the dsr numbers left buy this buyer, 5, 5, 5 and 4 for shipping cost. The buyer explained in the ebay message that the poorly designed iphone app running on his tiny screen iphone 4 was responsible for the accidental 4 instead of 5 due to it almost touching the field where feedback is entered and it just being a clunky app overall. The ebay rep read this ebay message.

We use the android app so we would not know.

This is really poor policy.

I don't think that one 4 star rating is really going to hurt you. Are buyers going to stop buying from you if you get 1 four star rating? No. Are buyers going to stop buying from you if you got a negative feedback? I'm sure they won't.

A negative FB has to be more than 10 times worse than 1 4 star rating, so I really wouldn't worry about one of them if I were you. There is nothing to do about it if eBay won't change it.

Seriously?

Surprised they didn't just hang up!

Bad enough that you actually queried the buyer on this Wasting customer service time over something so trivial is a really poor use of anyone's time.

You're saying that 1 4.0 rating dropped your shipping cost from 5.0 to 4.9?   I would be surprised if it changed the total rating

at all and even if it had, I wouldn't have worried about something that wouldn't affect me in any way.

But then I probably wouldn't have even noticed that I had received a 4.0 because I don't pay much attention to that.

Mathematically it has to change it to 4.9 since it is now less than 100% and there is only one decimal point in dsr ratings.
