can you tell me why the import charges are so high from the US to Canada

It is the pitney bowes GSP program which has still not ironed out all the bugs.. The import carges might be right but with out knowing the item and the value nobody on here can tell you ...

Sometimes the programs will charge 2 different important fees on the exact same items with exact same values ...

So the import charge may be right but it might not be ...

The import charge includes applicable duty (based on item and place of manufacture) applicable sales taxes (from 5% to 15% depending on province) and a small service fee from PitneyBowes (around $5 usually) for delivering from the USA to your doorstep in Canada.

Duty and tax are based on the selling price (value) of the item.
