eBay customer service (or lack of it)

i received an email today regarding "false reporting", after spending 20 minutes trying to find the right subject so i can contact ebay to find out what's this about, i was hook up with a "live chat" agent.

after holding for more than 15 minutes so s/he can find my file/email, i was told i should talk to safety and trust and immediately switch off to another page telling me the next agent would be available in forty (40) minutes, i am # 14 in cue.

So after waiting for 40 minutes i was told i've been mis-transferred and immediately got cut off 😞

back to square one after one (1) hour holding...
(and let me tell me this is not an isolated incident)

BTW, a couple of the pinks are actively participating in a thread about ebay bugs and issues - this would be a good addition - go here;

NO thanks, three times i would have a heart attack.

The matter did turn for the worse - just received an email from ebay saying that the reason for me getting the warning from ebay was that I filed this same report 10 times a day!

There must a serious bug in their system, who has the time to file the issue 10 times, in one day? Are they crazy or what, it's like adding salt to an insult and treating us like super dumb kids 😞

Not able or willing to solve an image theft issue and accused me of something that i did not do 😞 😞

Re: eBay customer service (or lack of it)

They hid it during one of their "improvements".

Now it's called "LiveChat" and you get it here;

https://cschatlb-na.corp.ebay.com/chat.asp?profile=43

That link takes you to a final attempt to detour you into the automated Help system, but, if you click on "Other" twice, it gives up and lets you speak to a drone.

Thanks for the link worked perfectly, got the drone, explained the situation and then I was on hold for 25 minutes, Richard K, never came back, I asked if there was a problem, he ended the session without getting back to me X-(

Does anyone have a link to Trust and safety to report a seller, I buy under a different ID, and the treatment I received was shabby, and outright rude, I contacted ebay about the situation and they recommended that I report him.

That is why I went on live chat to get a link, since there doesn't seem to be one available anywhere.

Can anyone help it would be very much appreciated

Re: eBay customer service (or lack of it)

Trust and Safety doesn't have a way for us to contact them directly, at least, not if you want a conversation - I guess they get too many threats.:-D

What do you think is reportable about the seller's behaviour? Maybe we can find a link that way.

email 1 - Hello, thank you for bidding and winning this item. Your item is well packaged and ready to ship. As peritem description immediate payment is required. Thanks!!!!!!!

email 2 - Hello, as per item description immediate payment at auction end is required. If payment is not received by 7pm EST , iten will be offered to next highest bidder.3
Thanks

email 3 - Hello, do you want this item? Please let me know. Thanks

Me - Excuse me, I need to be home to put through the payment, yes I always pay for my purchases, I DO NOT HAVE AUTOMATIC PAYMENT SYSTEM, DO YOU!!!!!

Me - I PAID FOR THIS ITEM, SORRY FOR THE DELAY, immediate payment after the auction is fine when you are actually home to pay for it, maybe you should look at your customer service, it makes the buyer feel uneasy, I sure did, especially after the ultimatum, I received from you. I have been selling on eBay since 2000, and have never treated any of my customers as I have been treated by you. Hope you have a great day.

Email 4 - Hello, relax, This is why I state immediate payment due at auction close, I did not receive any communication from you . I sell many items on ebay but I got sick and tired of waiting for payments 7 days in some cases and no payment at all in many. I did not trat you badly , I just asked for payment as item description states and asked if you wanted theitem. I will ship on 07/23/10. Please do not take e-mails pesonally , all is well, I am sorry to have upset you in any way.

Me - Dear 01********,
just a thought.....you said you didn't treat me badly, I guess you forgot about this email you send me.

Dear 8******,
Hello, as per item description immediate payment at auction end is required. If payment is not received by 7pm EST , iten will be offered to next highest bidder.3
Thanks
- 01*********

Me - That is why I fired off the email I did. If you were the buyer and I sent you that email, how would you have felt......just a thought.

email 5 - If I were the buyer I would have adhered to item desciption instructions concerning payment. And would not have been surprised to receive and e-mail asking for payment 2 days later. Do me a favor, do not bid on any of my items again, also you are a very sesative person, you must have a hard time in life. FEEL FREE TO GIVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK as I am sure you will , even if the item is PERFECT.

Me - You know what I wasn't going to give you an negative, but thanks for the invite to do so...I will also be getting in touch with ebay about the treatment I have received...you do not have to be such an a**. You should just block me, in case I make a mistake and bid on something you own. You have a great day...

Granted I paid 1 1/2 days later when I got home, and wasn’t anywhere near a computer. Those 1st 3 emails were all within 24 hours of the receipt of the invoice.

Give me a break, things happen, but I give my the customers the benefit of the doubt, after 7 days I put in a claim if I don't hear anything, not an ultimatum 24 hrs later.

Wow! Nice seller. What's that item number again? Sheesh

This guy's getting upset about waiting 7 days. Oh no! Maybe you should have reminded the doorknob that eBay won't let him do anything until after at least - *gasp* - 4 full days. The horror.....the horror.....

LOL What an idiot.

eBay's not going to do anything to this guy for that. They don't care. They only care about the feedback, DSR's and in the extra little blurbs they ask you when you go to leave feedback now.

We bought something and when I went to give the seller feedback there was a box asking how the seller was and would I buy from them again. I would have if they had something I wanted until they started spamming me. Just because they bought from me doesn't mean I want to be on their email list.

I don't know if that option is standard now or just a few people get it but I did. If you get it, there's your opportunity to say what happened. Feel free to score appropriately in the DSRs though. As you should! That's awful!

I am going to oblige him with the negative, he invited me to do....The sad thing is that the item I bought was perfect, shipping was not unreasonable and shipping was quick. The only thing he needs to work on is his communication and SPELLING, sheesh that was bad.

FEEDBACK: negative: COMMENT: RUDE, REPORTED TO EBAY

the other word I was looking for was condescending

COMMENT: RUDE, and CONDESCENDING

He probably will have to look that word up.

Thanks Jake for the reply.

Re: eBay customer service (or lack of it)

😮 That boy needs to try DECAF.

Personally, I don't think there's anything there that's reportable, but the neg will be well deserved and perhaps a 1 for communications.

Maybe I'm jaded - I see too many guys out there just like this one.

He sounds like a newbie.

UPDATE:

Negative FEEDBACK sent:

Comment left: RUDE,CONDESCENDING.Fellow Powersellers couldn't BELIEVE treatment I got,REPORTED

Seller requests that you revise the original Feedback you left.

Message from the seller: Buyer purchased item, item desciption clearly states IMMEDIATE PAYMENT DUE AT END OF AUCTION. i DID NOT HERE FROM BUYER FOR 2 DAYS, i LEFT 3 polite, E-MAILS ASKING FOR PAYMENT. i ALSO STATED THAT i WOULD OFFER ITEM TO NEXT HIGHEST BIDDER IF ITEM WAS NOT PAID FOR ON THE END OF 2ND DAY. All e-mails were polite!!!!! When item was paid for I shipped same day. Item was excellent and shipped fast. Buyer took offense because I asked for immediate payment as described in item desciption. UNBELEIVABLE

POLITE!!!! my a**

Re: eBay customer service (or lack of it)

I find nothing wrong with this seller except he requires immediate payment, which may be weird but who am I to scrutinize other people's reasons.

Buyer (cottonwood) is first sarcastic, then aggravated. I am sure cottonwood would not like the buyer like this himself, who is trying to convince him that because buyer is also a seller and does things certain way, so should the other seller.

No offence cottonwood, you are always a reasonable guy, but here you went trigger happy.

I agree with dipmicro, I don't think it was worth a negative over. Whole situation here is blown out of proportion. It's not like he stiffed you or the product was bad. E-mails can be misinterpreted. 7 days is a long time to wait for payment.. what are we doing layaways?
I would consider to revise your negatives... you've already put a scare into him where he may want to rephrase his future e-mails. Just remember Karma will always find its way back to you.
