eBay customer service (or lack of it)

i received an email today regarding "false reporting", after spending 20 minutes trying to find the right subject so i can contact ebay to find out what's this about, i was hook up with a "live chat" agent.

after holding for more than 15 minutes so s/he can find my file/email, i was told i should talk to safety and trust and immediately switch off to another page telling me the next agent would be available in forty (40) minutes, i am # 14 in cue.

So after waiting for 40 minutes i was told i've been mis-transferred and immediately got cut off 😞

back to square one after one (1) hour holding...
(and let me tell me this is not an isolated incident)

Re: eBay customer service (or lack of it)

7 days is a long time to wait for payment

????

In the real world, 7 days is considered equivalent to cash.

I think online sellers are spoiled and they ought to relax a bit.

We know this, but can you explain it to landlords and utility companies 😛

A seller asking for immediate payment required at the end of an auction is ridiculous and unenforceable. If they wanted immediate payment then they should have set it up as a Buy Now with immediate payment required selected.

You can't do that with auctions. The seller looks the fool demanding that payment and yes, rude, for sending those emails in that tone and quantity in that short period of time. Was a negative warranted? We can each have our own opinion but we're not what counts, the OP's opinion does.

I would be rather ticked off at a seller that did what OP's seller did. If I had seen in the description someone asking for immediate payment for an auciton I wouldn't bid personally. I'd think the seller was a goof for making such a demand and find someone else. If there was no someone else and I ended up buying from this guy I'd tell him he was being rather unreasonable in making such demands. They're ridiculous and unenforceable. Sellers can't file UPI's for at least 4 days after the auciton closes so why make unreasonable demands and then follow it up with emails badgering for payment??? fffttt

I'd be PO'd too.

Someone considers 7 days as layaway? LOL okie dokie. I don't think this seller will change anything. They think they're right and the OP is wrong. They haven't learned that they are making unreasonable demands of buyers and pestering people for payment.

Re: eBay customer service (or lack of it)

By the way I paid in 2 days not 7,

and as of today, SILENCE.....is golden.

My point....the seller should have stopped when he was ahead...but he didn't.

UNBELIEVABLE........just another dig he had to give me, when asking for a revision.

As I told eBay, I did not dish his DSR in the other categories except communication.

I DO NOT hand out negatives on a whim, I agonized over that one for over a week, then I made a decision which was RIGHT for me.

There are some on this forum who would have given a negative and never thought twice about it. But that is not me.

Sorry Dipmicro, I do not agree with you.
Jakeangel hit the nail on the head, right on, thank you.

The situation is now laid to rest, thanks for all your input.

WHERE IS LIVE HELP?

I phoned eBay, and they suggested to contact live help...
where has it gone...not on US site

the live chat is there sometimes and sometimes not, you have to go through many selections before (if you are lucky) to see that selection 😞

Re: eBay customer service (or lack of it)

i had outrageous experience with this seller too in Markham -
"canadianclearances", i purchased 4 items from him and they were all broken! Wouldn't give me a refund and said verbally in no uncertain terms that he'll retaliate on my site if i leave him any negative!

not to mentioned the fact this guy is ebay fee avoidance, sells stuff for 1 cents and charged $15 for shipping (i went pick up with $6 fee/item)

ebay trust and safety was absolutely useless, told me to take a chance! Cry out loud 😞

Thanks for the link worked perfectly, got the drone, explained the situation and then I was on hold for 25 minutes, Richard K, never came back, I asked if there was a problem, he ended the session without getting back to me X-(

Does anyone have a link to Trust and safety to report a seller, I buy under a different ID, and the treatment I received was shabby, and outright rude, I contacted ebay about the situation and they recommended that I report him.

That is why I went on live chat to get a link, since there doesn't seem to be one available anywhere.

Can anyone help it would be very much appreciated
