how do i get a refund on an item i purchased that is no longer available? What a pain in the butt

I bought and paid for an item and received an email that the item is no longer available, I want my money back! Of course it is the first time I have used Ebay and maybe the last

How did you pay for it?

Via credit card -- the refund should go back to your credit card.  Check your credit card.

PayPal balance - refund will go to PayPal. Check PayPal.

Refunds should take a day or 2 to process. If not contact the seller.

The seller can refund a Paypal payment with a few clicks. He could have done this when he told you he was out of stock.

Do NOT wait for a 'replacement'. It won't arrive either.

If he is putting you off about refunding, go to the Resolution Centre at the bottom of this page and open an Item Not Received dispute.

You have already communicated with the seller, so skip that step.

If the seller cannot show Delivery you will be refunded. If he doesn't do it, eBay will and then go after him for their money.
