Don't bother with any 'dying grandmother' type excuses, no one is going to believe you anyway.

Now.

Your choices are:

a) pay

b) don't pay.

If you pay, you get the machine you originally wanted. If you don't want it anymore you can sell it on. You might even come out ahead on the deal.

If you don't pay, the seller will probably open an Unpaid Item Dispute, which you will lose. You will get an Unpaid Item Strike which will make it harder to bid on eBay in future.

Your choice.

That is a pretty rude thing to do to a seller. Why would you bid on something with no intention of paying for it? The seller has already been charged the final value fees 10% of the price and shipping and now has to fight to get reimbursed. How inconvenient.

How would you like it if a newb did that to you with for example the receiver you are selling?

Hmmm-- if you are leaving the country, how do you plan to complete the receiver sale, should you find a buyer?

Don't pay then. The seller is right to hold you to this contract, you can't use excuses to not pay your rent or bills why should this be any different.
If you don't pay all that will happen is you get an unpaid item strike. Recieve multiple strikes & ebay will ban you. Unless you have aa habit of being a deadbeat bidder there shouldn't be a problem right?
