i had a coin sell on oct. 10, then the exact same coin with the exact same photos, sell again, on the 14, .. well guess what i don't have the coin as it was already sold..?? now the only way items get listed on my site are when i list new items.. or when i relist items from my unsold list..that is it.. so how does a sold item magically make it's way to my unsold list..know i am trying to deal with a customer . apologizing for the oversight, and trying to make it right.. they bought 6 coins, and one isn;t available.??
so to be clear here, because i sell coins i have to take at least 2 photos of every coin, so i would never relist an item using the same photos..
so i know for a fact this coin was relisted from my unsold list..
so now do we have to check every item in our unsold list before relisting items???

Yes, old UnSold items from months ago may show up in UnSold out of nowhere and they were sold. eBay glitch that has been mentioned many times in the eBay.com USA forums over the years.
I personally experienced this where an I item I sold appeared in my UnSold 2 months after I sold it. I even sent an email to Raphael about it. This was a year or two ago.
So most likely this happened to you. No way to protect against this.
You can protect against a duplicate listing if you just have the same item listed twice. Here is a free duplicate listing checker made by eBay member shipscript.

Maybe this tool would have caught your issue before since your listings seems to have been running two at the same time before they both sold.
I would suggest running the duplicate checking tool after you list any items to minimize duplicates and minimize the scenario of selling the item twice. I ran the tool on your id and you currently have no duplicates.
PS Another issue is that the new Seller Hub on eBay.com is confusing. It groups Sold and UnSold listings as Ended Listings and some sellers look at Ended Listings and relist from there not realizing they should be looking at UnSold Ended Listings only. I think you only list on eBay.ca in CDN from a quick look at your listings.

yea, it wasn't a duplicate listing, as the dates listed didn't overlap.. it was relisted from unsold pile.. but it had been sold a week earlier.. it should have never made it's way to my unsold items..
