Hi i purchased an item from another member and paid through pay-pal. It later came up payment pending. The seller sent me a personal Email(not through the E bay site) saying he had changed his paypal email address and that I should stop payment. Then send it to the other address. He said eBay told him we should do this....Question is there something fishy going on here.I cant get through to customer support. Thanks Ken

Dunno about fishy, but if he thinks he can scam you with this he will be disappointed.
Paypal's Buyer Protection is just as strong as eBay's. If you don't receive the item within 45 days or if it is Not As Described, you can still file a Dispute with PP and get your money back.
I would politely ask him to repeat the request on eBay Messages and if he does because nothing naughty is planned, include the eBay transaction number and title in the payment.

Thank-you for the quick response. My concern is that if I stop payment, he will say that I broke the transaction so that he can get out of the deal. apparently he has backed out of a few deals in the past.

The last 3 sellers that you purchased from ship through the global shipping program so part of the payment that you made goes to the seller and the other part goes to Pitney Bowes for shipping the item. You can't just cancel the payment and send a new one through Paypal as the full amount would then go to the seller and they are not owed that full amount.
The seller might not realize that so I'm not saying that they are necessarily being dishonest but they do sound a bit sketchy so I don't know if I would want to deal with them. You could wait to see what happens with your current payment or phone Paypal and they might be able to suggest what to do. Payal is usually easier to reach than ebay. Sign into your paypal account and click on contact us which is at the bottom of the page.
Did the payment always say payment pending? If it did, perhaps Paypal is treating the payment as an echeque rather than as an instant payment.
