"do buyers care what brand it is"

Yes, most definitely.

Make sure your listing clearly state that the lot contains some of each.

Re: selling lego

Separate the Mega Bloks from the Lego  and sell each separately....  will sell better.

Lego and Mega Blocks look similar  but they do not mix well in a build.....

If you have two pounds it may not be critical...  It will be a lot different situation with 20 , 50, 100 pounds and more...

There is a price differential between the two... atleast there was over 6 years ago.

and while you are at it   you may find specialty blocks...  windows, doors, clear blocks,(from space and Space craft  Lego sets) uniquely shaped blocks, as well a figures  and maybe even animals

You will soon find  that each category of block  and each  variation will have its own value.

Basic Lego has a price per pound....check on eBay.com  and then go from there.

For Lego  the price used to be about $5 to $6 a pound...  could be more

Re: selling lego

Some bulk Lego is selling at close to $10 a pound.

Mega Bloks appear to have less value.... perhaps close to $5 a pound....
