Hi .. I have no first hand knowledge and a complicated area with CITES restrictions.

Canada's wild life trade law says..it is unlawful to:Import or possess any wild species of animal or plant, including their parts and derivatives that were obtained or exported illegally from another country. This is not restricted to CITES-listed species.

It would likely cause a lot less hassle if you could find a Canadian seller who has what you want. It would avoid all sorts of possible import problems.

This is an old thread, but I'll put my experience in to help someone.   I'm a dual citizen living in Canada.  I bought a fox/pheasant mount from a taxidermist in Minnesota, shipped it to an Ohio address, and took it across the Detroit/Windsor border into Canada  Just had to show the invoice/Ebay listing to the customs officer and I had no problems.  They didn't even examine it.  They are more concerned with endangered or protected species, I asked prior to importing.  Also have taken several mounted fish across the border, no problem.  As far as mailing the item to Canada, I don't know if that is more problematic.
