when selling 1 ounce gold bullion from the RCM are pictures considered as intellectual property

I read that the Royal Canadian Mint charges $350.00 Canadian dollars to use the image of a gold 1 ounce coin because it is

intellectual property, so is everyone selling a Royal Canadian Mint Coin paying this cost or are they just taking their chances.

It's always best to take your own pictures. That way the buyer knows what he is really getting.

There are 'Stock Photos" available through the Item Specifics option that are free to use.

Scans work better than photos for flat things like coins, books, stamp, collectible cards and the like. Detail is cleaner in scans.
