Bad time to look for auctions?

I started to buy and looking for auctions on ebay because i used to win some at good prices but since fall/winter began things changed this is impossible now. Auctions i used to be alone to bid or be only against one/two persons have 20-40 watchers now there's alway a few persons going into bidding wars plus a few sniping... It was not like this before november... I really noticed a very high raise in prices, in population and in people going crazy...

Just wondering if this is a bad time to look at auctions if we're looking for good prices?

Supply and demand decide at what price an item will sell for, and FOMO plays a part in that too...

Most sellers would be delighted at that news!

One reason Auctions are so little used on eBay (less than 15% of listings) is that buyers don't like them and don't bid, preferring Fixed Price or Buy It Now, not to mention Best Offer options.

Sellers are here to turn their stuff into cash. The more cash the better.

Watchers watch.

Many of them are either lookie-loos or competitors.

Bid.

But remember : Bid ONCE. Bid your MAXIMUM.

And bid late to avoid the nibblers. Or snipe, but not manually.

Many of those snipe bids were actually placed with an online bidding service like esnipe.com which will bid for you at the last possible second. There is a fee, although I believe there are often free trials.
