How you report a seller for scamming without calling in?

Hi, I was was wondering if there's any reliable way to report a scammer seller using what's available on the site.  This specific scammer has multiple accounts all made a couple of years ago and he doesn't seem to get the message that he'll be reported, banned, and have all the money he's scammed taken back every single time he does this.  And I don't want to be bothered with calling in a 3rd, 4th, etc. time to report.

It's also very obvious it's the same person every single time - I've reported him twice (and gotten all my money back both times) but it's getting annoying cause his scam listing interfere with my searches.

The customer service guy said I can click report a listing and then I can add extra details, but I didn't see a text box option when I did so.

When you click on report on a listing page, just some of the options will give you a box to explain in more detail. Other than that, there is no way to report a seller unless you have recently made a purchase and have a problem with it.

Each time a buyer opens and wins a Claim, that goes on the seller's record.

Even if he refunds the buyer promptly.

If one person complains, even multiple times, eBay may note the complaint, but is unlikely to do anything, since the complainant could be a rival seller, a vigilante, or just plain wrong.

If multiple complaints from multiple members are coming in, then eBay will take note.

Obviously the same person?

Same address? Same account name?

Dropshippers in particular can look identical, because they are using the same supplier, who has dozens or hundreds of resellers.

The "crook" may not be the reseller, but the supplier, and eBay has no contact with the supplier.

Re: How you report a seller for scamming without calling in?

That wasn't really an answer to my question, you mostly just questioned the validity of what I asked about.

I would interpret what you said as "No, there is no way to directly report a scammer online - you would have to call in and talk to a real person" but while you definitely know how the reporting process works, I don't know how well you know the site's reporting functions.

As for what I said before, it's literally an identical listing, same listing names (cept the item part), and same description box format. Also the account was made in the same year as his previous 2 accounts that got banned (it is VERY obvious it's the same person).
And people are still getting fooled by this jerk who isn't even changing those things I mentioned.

And I should be clear that this person is making fake listings - there are no items for him to ship.

Re: How you report a seller for scamming without calling in?

Hi @me_ga_man - the most effective way to report a member is by reporting their listings. There is no functionality for you to report an entire account.

If you believe you've found items that are in violation of our policies and are potentially inauthentic or otherwise not accurate, you can use the 'report this listing' link and use the following tree:

1. Copyright and trademark
2. Counterfeit item or authenticity disclaimer
3. Counterfeit, fake, or replica items

Thanks!
