Why do so many Canadian orders get stuck in "the hub" Glendale or Carol Stream Illinois?
Why does eBay not care to help?
Why do they close your case when inquiring about the this?
Is there an internal scam?
It says delivered to an agent. Then sits for weeks , months, and the sellers think it has been delivered to you a person because that's how it looks on paper.
What is going on?

Never had an issue in several dozen orders over the last year. Not sure what your issue might be

I’m guessing you’re referring to items handled through eBay International Shipping (eIS), as opposed to more direct shipping methods for items located in the United States, am I correct, @jumccut_68?

Sales of items forwarded through eIS are subject to two sets of Terms and Conditions in addition to those already in place with the eBay User Agreement.

These are the T&C for buyers:

These are the T&C for sellers:

https://pages.ebay.com/internationalshippingprogram/seller/terms/

Sellers have to follow some pretty strict requirements for shipping items through eIS (see the “Program Rules” in the seller T&C), particularly when hazmat is involved, and I suspect some sellers aren’t following those requirements and items are dead-ending at the eIS hub as a result.

Those buyers who are seeing their non-delivery cases closed by eBay and not receiving refunds have probably waited too long to file those cases, as eBay’s Money Back Guarantee’s coverage for undelivered items is only good for 30 days after the last estimated delivery date. Patience may be a virtue, but unfortunately it can also be a liability on eBay.  Those buyers may have recourse through their payment source, however, especially if they used a credit card.

I don't know if this helps but, as well as doing eBay, I operate 3 websites.  I am primarily shipping Chinese made items from my location in Canada into the US.  Needless to say this week has been a complete **bleep**-show!!  After 30 years of fairly smooth sailing, Trump put a blanket 10% tariff on all Chinese manufactued goods with no $800 de minimis (most of my stuff was under $800 anyway and my products were duty free).  Well, UPS had a massive backlog as they were sending out bills to everyone and now I have a bunch of customers who weren't ready for a bit extra bill and they are **bleep**!!  As a Canadian I can't do anything.  I sure didn't vote for the clown!!  I'm stuck having to cancel orders for people who likely did!!

All you Sellers of Chinese "stuff" should be more afraid of this, it has been in the works for a while already...

While Trump dithers, US lawmakers push 100% tariff on China

Bipartisan bill seeks to revoke China’s PNTR status while AmCham survey shows 30% of US companies plan to leave China

United States bipartisan lawmakers have introduced a bill that would revoke China’s Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR), previously known as Most Favoured Nation (MFN) trade status, and impose a 100% tariff on a wide range of Chinese goods.

Republican John Moolenaar, chairman of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, last November introduced the Restoring Trade Fairness Act, which, if enacted, would revoke China’s PNTR.

On January 23, he announced that the proposed Act has become a bipartisan bill as Democrat lawmaker Tom Suozzi will help promote it.

Moolenaar’s announcement came after newly-inaugurated US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on January 20 directing the Secretary of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative to assess legislative proposals regarding China’s PNTR.

On the campaign trail, Trump had vowed to slap a 60% tariff on all Chinese goods but he has hesitated to impose the sweeping tax since being inaugurated on January 20.

“The bipartisan consensus that both parties recognize the need to reset our economic relationship with China is a big win for our nation and the Select Committee,” Moolenaar said.

“Building on the tariff measures across three successive administrations, and in alignment with President Trump’s leadership through his new executive order, the Restoring Trade Fairness Act takes decisive action.”

According to the proposed Act, a wide range of Chinese products will face a 100% tariff. They include chemicals, drugs, nuclear reactors and parts, steam turbines and parts, agricultural and construction equipment, industrial robots, motors and engines, unmanned aircraft, consumer electronic products and weapons. Other products will face a 35% tariff.

If the Act is passed and enacted, tariff hikes will be fully implemented in five years. Two years after the enactment, 25% of the total duty increase shall apply. Four years after the enactment, 50% of the total duty increase shall apply.

I have experienced that too, particularly with a couple of items. One was an electric bike battery, which the sellers did not know they couldn't be exported to Canada via the USA. Ended up getting refunded and bought it from a different platform, with the vendor bringing it directly to Canada from the PRC.

The other one is a headscratcher. It was a vintage Casio handheld computer, from the early 90s. I tried to buy it twice, from two different sellers, and both times they got mysteriously returned to the IS hub, never to be heard of again. Obviously I got refunded in both occasions, but I never got an explanation as to why (maybe this particular model is used by spies or terrorists? IDK.). I was finally able to get one by buying it in .com and shipping it through a parcel redirecting service.

They'll back off, exactly as it happened during his last term.

The USA is addicted to all those Chinese products.

They may not backoff this time, unless Trumpty Dumpty gets in the sack with Russia and China.
