eBay deletes neutral or negative feedback, even when justified.

Literally. Only positive feedback is accepted. So, what's the point?

I've had two recent cases (both this year). Both from sellers in Europe.

One sends the watch late (6 days after payment, when the profile says within 3 days). And I can see in the tracking that, instead of being shipped to Canada, it got returned to the sender (were are now two weeks after paying for the item). So, I asked them what the problem was, and they said it was because it was shipped in the battery inside the watch, which apparetly Italian post does not allow it. So, it was their screwup. Solution? They asked for more money to ship it again. I said no, and they proceeded to refund the purchase. Of course, it was not going to be a positive feedback. I wrote a polite but clear neutral review, indicating their lack of knowledge when shipping items abroad. Within 24 hours, the review was deleted from their profile, as it if the transaction never happened...

The second is a seller in Spain. The shipping in the listing indicates that they ship to Canada. I proceeded with the purchase. 12 hours later, the seller cancelled the order. They didn't even send me a message about why they cancelled it. I wrote a negative review, which prompt them to send me a message. They say that they don't ship outside the EU. I replied, explaining that their listing said otherwise (I sent a screenshot of the shipping section of the listing). Then, they sent eBay a request to change my review, which I did after they sent me a screenshot of the listing description, indicating that, in fact, they don't ship outside the EU - written in Spanish (not in English). So, I guess it was my fault for not being able to read the warning in another language.

I changed the feeback to neutral, saying that the seller should change their shipping policy, so it reflects what they say in the description of their listings - I guess they assume everybody is able to understand Spanish. As with the other case, the neutral feedback disappeared.

I am just tempted to forgo giving feedback altogether, given that eBay sides with sellers all the time, no matter what they do.

The first seller should not have asked for more money to ship. It is up to them to know the export do's and dont's of their country. Personally would have just written and let them know they erred, they should eat the extra shipping but, I would not leave a feedback.

On the other transaction.........the seller in Spain used Spanish in their listing?  Off with their head!

I actually mentioned that they should know how to ship their items for sale, when I told them I wasn't going to give them more money for shipping. They never replied and just cancelled the transaction.

Well. They are advertising in eBay, so obviously not everyone is going to understand the language.
There are similar platforms that use Spanish only.

And you completely ignored the fact I mentioned that they continue to advertise that they actually ship outside the EU, based on their inaccurate shipping policy.
