Good afternoon dove3ducks!

Lucie--you right, it does take work. Just that little shift in your thoughts can really change things, but that little shift can take effort.

DHs snoring used to really annoy me but then when a widow said she would give alot to hear her husband snoring again, it really made me think I was the lucky one.

I had a dear little cat that loved to sharpen her nails on the brand new carpet my Mother waited years for. When the cat was hit by a car a visitor to our home, my Mom told me she wished she could wake up the next morning and see that naughty little cat ripping at her carpet.

I think MLM's post was very true, the things that can really annoy us are also opportunities to understand how lucky we are.

Hi Dove3ducks! Welcome! 🙂

I love your Scripture reference so much that I wanted to post a bit from it (verses 16 through 21)...

16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. 19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

((Lucie)) I hear ya. I listened to a wonderful sermon recently by Dr. Dobson about gratitude and a thankful heart. He mentioned starting your prayer time with praise to God and thank-you's to Him for all things. It really quiets my heart and prepares me for my list of prayer requests. :)

I hope they find the location of the bleeding quickly and can operate ASAP to stop it. At least she's in the hospital, where they can keep an eye on her. Hope she gets better very, very soon.

Good morning to everyone. Today is a test of looking at things in your life by shifting your attitude. Tax day at our house. Getting everything together, organized and sent to the accountant. Taking a deep breath, I am thankful that we made enough this year that we are in an incoming tax paying bracket. I am thankful that although I am responsible for the first $7,000. in pharmaceutics before Pharmacare kicks in, I did not have to spend that much, and what I had to spend, I could pay for--and now can deduct from my income, and I am especially thankful I will type everything up on a computer, not a typewriter, so I can erase by backspacing and won't be buried under a mound of those little pilings from an eraser, and I won't have whiteout all over my fingers.

When I type that all out, I can actually see that I am very blessed.

Thanks again MLM for your post that reminded me that the things I am tempted to whine about are things that I am so very blessed with if I will adjust my attitude.

survivornikki...could you send me your email addy through 'contact member'? (It's chaotic here in the Birdie household after being away for three weeks and I don't have the oommppff to check back as to what's the matter with your email addy - I'm relying solely on memory here so who really knows if I have anything straight.) Thanks :-x

Christine, glad your aunt is feeling better, sure hope they find the source of her bleeding. I can't imagine how exhausting that blood loss was for her. Prayers continue.

At the moment, the email addy is working.:-)

I am praying for some wisdom. DD has just called and asked DH and I to come over Saturday night. She wants a meeting about our GS who is a high functioning autistic. She is also asking my sister, who knows the the system well and I know DS will be a huge help. DD and her DH have some big decisions to make on his course of treatment and they are feeling pressure, because adequate funding for these children is only dispersed until they are 6, then the government pretty well gives up on them--letting the school districts handle them. I pray that within the assembled group we do come up with what is best for this 3 year old child and his parents have some peace about the choices they make. I pray I don't so hope that he is improving that it blinds me to something that should be seen--if the symptoms are there, let me see them clearly. As always, I pray there is no regression. He is a funny little soul, and it would be so sad if he loses who he is and disappears into that other world he gets lost in.

I was listening to Josh Groban's newest release today...this song just felt like God speaking to my heart...

YOU ARE LOVED
(Thomas Salter)

Don’t give up
It’s just the weight of the world.
When your heart’s heavy, I,
I will lift it for you.
Don’t give up
Because you want to be heard.
If silence keeps you, I
I will break it for you.

Everybody wants to be understood.
Well I can hear you.
Everybody wants to be loved.
Don’t give up,
Because you are loved.

Don’t give up.
It’s just the hurt
That you hide.
When you’re lost inside, I,
I’ll be there to find you.

Don’t give up
Because you want to burn bright.
If darkness blinds you, I,
I will shine to guide you.

Everybody wants to be understood.
Well I can hear you.
Everybody wants to be loved.
Don’t give up,
Because you are loved.

You are loved.

Don’t give up
It’s just the weight of the world.

Don’t give up
Everyone needs to be loved.

You are loved.

Good morning, everyone.

A friend going through some health trials sent me this e-mail and I thought I'd share it here.
--------------------

Are you passing through a dark night? Do health issues, marital problems, family discord, financial difficulties, or perhaps social challenges threaten
to overwhelm you? Do you feel alone? A friend recently passed on to us this legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of passage.

His father took him into the forest, blindfolded, and left him alone. He
was required to sit on a stump the whole night and not take off the blindfold until a ray of sun shone through it. He was all by himself. He could not cry out for help to anyone. Once he survived the night, he would be a MAN.

The boy was terrified could hear all kinds of noise. Beasts were all around
him. Maybe even some human would hurt him. The wind blew the grass and earth and it shook his stump. But he sat stoically. never removing the blindfold. It was the only way he could be a man. Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he saw his father sitting on the stump next to him - at watch the entire night.

We are never alone. Even when we do not know it, our Father is sitting on the stump beside us, protecting us. He has called us to face our dark nights-not run from them looking only for sunshine and flowers. He knows that the dark nights reveal our fears and give us the opportunity to face and overcome them.

However, our Father is not the One who has blindfolded us. An enemy has.
Satan blindfolds us with misconceptions and lying thoughts about our Heavenly Father and he tells us that we cannot cry out for help.

Our heavenly Father removes blindfolds. (Psalm 146:8). He wants us to know He is right there with us. He urges us to call upon Him and promises to answer us. (Jeremiah 33:3). He offers to hold our hand and help us. (Isaiah 41:13).

He has promised, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you." Therefore we
can confidently say, "My Father is my helper, and I will not fear what any
beast of the night can do to me." (Hebrews 13:5, 6 paraphrased.)

What misconception from your history blindfolds you to the presence of
your Father?

What lying thought keeps you from crying out to Him and listening for
His answer?

What keeps you from taking His hand and walking through your night one
step at a time?

He is there for you! It's about seeing Him by your side!
