What a beautiful story Julie! Hugs to you & Chelsea.

I'm just wondering whether there are any community groups in your area which would have activities for special needs children? Perhaps your daughter could meet another "special friend" at one of these activities and that would lessen the impact of the teasing she gets at school? Usually, children with challenges of their own, whether physical or otherwise, are less judgemental and more accepting of other children that are also "different".

I know Shirley. I'm sorry.

Been busy with work and with life. They have a tendency to get in the way. 😉

:-x:-x Julie, she is most precious in the Lord's eyes :-x
Train her well in that. And allow God to strengthen.
I know you will teach the secrets of strength and power.

When she is old enough give her this small poem from the Lord.

Psalms 30:20 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of Thy presence from the pride of man: Thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavillion from the strife of tougues.

There is a secret so precious to me
When in Thy presence Thy secret I see
Though all around me the world with its pride
Mocking Thy promise, with Thee to abide.

Great was the ransom in blood Thou hast paid
Great is Thy goodness which Thou hast up laid
Sweet are the words which Thou promise to me
Blessings and love are forever with Thee.

Strong is Thy arm which was bared to redeem
Nothing to others, Thy love they've not seen
Mocking and taunting with their tongues of strife
Prefering their pride, to your promise of life.

Be of good courage, I will strengthen your heart
What joy in those words that you'll never depart
Great is the strength in the promise I see
Found in the secret of Thy presence with me.

((((hugs to Julie's DD ))):-x

What a beautiful thread to open this day.

Smiling thinking of Julie's little warrior--wise beyond her years.:-x

Also thinking of Julie handing out the hanging baskets--what a blessing that will be in the recipients' day.

An inspirational story from Falwell weekly letter:

Working to Preserve Religious Expression in School

In the May issue of my National Liberty Journal newspaper, we featured the story of Megan Chapman, who last year was forced to make a choice between standing up for her faith in Jesus Christ or allowing school officials to silence her.
She chose not to be silent, even though Russell Springs, Kentucky school officials told her she could not mention Jesus or her faith in her valedictorian speech. At the commencement, more than 3,000 people packed her school’s gymnasium, with members of the press in attendance. And before the principal of the school could finish making his opening remarks, the senior class stood together and recited “The Lord’s Prayer.”
What an inspiring scene!
Then Megan walked to the platform, prepared only to read the poem, “The Road Less Traveled” because she had been warned not to mention her faith. But as she looked out over the audience, she prayed that God would give her a message.
And He did.
Megan put away the poem and began speaking from her heart, sharing how God is real in her life. She spoke of the peace she has encountered since giving her heart to Jesus Christ and wished that same peace for her classmates.
The speech was frequently interrupted with cheers.
One local media outlet noted a “revival-like atmosphere” at the graduation.
The next night, Megan appeared on the Fox News Channel where she was able to again share her faith in Jesus Christ.
Today, Megan, along with twin sister Mandy, is a student at Liberty University, where she is planning to study law and attend Liberty University School of Law.
Her story has inspired many young people across this nation.
I hope it encourages more to take a stand for their faith.
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."--Unknown

Hello there valve. That was a nice post. I appreciated the thoughts Mr Farwell gave in that note.

I was reading around on the main board and in particular the request for prayer on a number of posts. Also on this thread where requests have been made even recently.
I feel pressed in the spirit this evening on prayer. And have meditated about it. Long story short....
I just finished writing a few lines I believe He has given me to post here and also I feel strongly that if God's people who read this board unite together in earnest prayer for the requests posted out on the main board and here along with names on the minds of folks who are too shy to post, that God will do things mighty indeed (even if we may never know about them).
Please I ask that if the Lord presses you also on this, that may we unite in a quite prayer circle even across great distances. We have the names in the posts to lift up. I can't explain it beyond that.

Here are the lines that came to me just this evening. Love you all. Andrew

Father, we approach Thee, in that Name above names
Seeking, Thy presence, in poor feeble frames.
Father, we carry, other names with many needs
In faith, before Thy throne, because here, is where it leads.

Father, if we could give, our lives for those names
We would gladly, lay down, these weary clay frames.
Father, thou knowsest, even before, we call
For heaven’s great power, for to earth, to fall.

Father, there ones, on the very edge of great peril
And we ask Thee, for mercy, that all things end well
Father, at this moment, there are ones in terrible need
Send, Thy great angels, with all heaven’s speed

Father, we ask, not a morsel for ourselves
But where there’s empty cupboards, please fill, those shelves
Father, we give thanks, in that Name above names
And thank Thee, that we can come, in poor feeble frames.

Father of mercy, we gather together to petition our prayers to you, and pray they go up as sweet smelling incense, pleasing to you in every way. Through your son, Jesus Christ, our bridge to You, we in reverence pray for our brethren in unison.

We are but a small collective voice in the wilderness, but are convicted by, and convinced of, Your holy presence. Hear our prayers, Lord, as we humbly ask for your loving mercies on our fellow CTSers and their loved ones...

We ask for your healing hand on: Nikki's grandson James and his ear tubes, Nan's friend who is undergoing a heart/lung transplant, Carolyn's father who is having heart troubles, Barky's continued healing, Nicki's mom Rolly as she battles cancer, Jenny's recent injuries in the kitchen, April's cat scratched lips, Ankril's upcoming wedding, Soobeedoo's bus situation, all the children & families of all the CTSers and lurkers who need prayer, and the Christian Thread regulars who embrace You as their powerful yet tender saviour Who grants your blessings on us all.

For these requests, we beseech thee, oh Lord, and praise you for prayers answered. In Jesus's name we pray, Amen.

Oh Father. We approach in the precious name of Thy beloved Son, in whom all blessing flow. We thank Thee for Him , for who He is and for what He has done for us and all mankind.
Father we feel this evening a special need to come to Thee and Yet we know not why. But we bring before Thee names previously mentioned and ask for great mercy and healing. Father, that Thy Son may Be glorified and dear ones in need may receive blessing.
Father , we ask for comfort and care for loved ones of those in need. We know that Thou knowest all needs.
We ask nothing for ourselves but pray for others in need.
Every name on your hearts we hold before Thee oh Father and pray that their needs may be met.
We gave thanks as always, thanking Thee for the great privilege to pray for others and we entrust them into the care of Thy great hands, trusting Thee in all things.
We bow and return thanks in our Lord Jesus Christ's most precious name.
Amen
