Hello to all,

Rainy day here on the Island. Our furnace actually came on last night--we wondered what the noise was!

We went to a birthday party--DGS's gift to birthday girl was a toy vacuum cleaner chosen by him. He was beside himself with excitement--he could not imagine that it was not the perfect gift. Luckily, the vacuum cleaner also played music, and the birthday girl liked that part. He behaved himself for most of the party. My heart aches for his parents who are very tense when he is around other children--they just don't know what behaviour is coming next.

Glad you are back safely TOB. Loved the pictures of your visit.

Christine--it sounds like you are having really good days.

It is a lovely day in Mississauga also. I went for a nice walk this morning and will go again later. I would say that I was walking because of the weather but if the truth be told I am walking because of the scale!

Glad to hear that you (TOB) made it home safe. I am sure that you are missed here in Ontario. Hopefully we can get together next time you are out this way. I did have a giggle at your message on Saturday morning. I gather you didn't have any garage sales to go to in your neck of the woods.

Nancy :-x. After driving through 'going to TO' traffic to get to MLMville (the coming home was much worse)...this poor bird from the prairies is sooooooooo thankful she lives where she does (for now). I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch with MLM and the others, but am thinking perhaps a shorter drive might be best 😉 (I'm not sure the TO traffic is my cuppa tea.)
I'd love to get together with you sometime.

I rarely do garage sales here. My days of 'accumulating' seem to be past (although Barky has probably 2 good size boxes to mail me). My DS is looking for a house to rent with a couple of buddies and even though I love my kidlets dearly, I am quite looking forward to having an empty nest. (I do know they will be back...DD has already been back 3 times). I've begun the downsize. 😉

It's a beautiful but windy day in Birdieville. We had quite the frost while I was away (-6C) and so there are leaves blowing everywhere. I'm back to work tonight. Am not looking forward to my first 12 hour shift in 3 weeks.

Hi All,

TOB--We downsized twice---now the bric-a-brac is on the rise again. I will admit minimalism is a great look--everything looks so fresh and clean. I am just a packrat by nature I think. China cups and saucers are going to come back in style, right? When they do--I am well prepared. LOL

Hi Nancy--it was brisk this morning and foggy. The sun is out so I am going to drag DGS out for a walk to the university so he can feel the wild bunnies.

Good afternoon ladies and all. Yes it is a beautiful day especially in eastern Canada. Just one of those gifts from God.

Had the wonderful pleasure of spending it in a beautiful coastal setting ( a nature hike) with a group of professionals lead by a cts regular poster.

Beautiful day here too. On the edge of a storm, so windy but sunny. DSIL is out of town, so I am just taking dinner to the little family.

Hi Nikki, Christine, TOB, ...

Morning. It looks beautiful here but unfortunately it is a poor air quality day. I have already been out for my morning walk and the air was quite heavy.

TOB and Nikki - in reference to your posts, I did go to a few garage sales on Saturday. Late in the morning I stopped at one sale where they had very little. I mentioned to the lady that I looked for 'pretty girly' things and she brought out small box of cups and saucers. She showed me a couple of them and asked how much I would pay. I suggested $5.00 as they were nice but nothing special. She said that it was too much and gave me the whole box for $10.00. There were probably 10 cups and saucers - including one that would sell for over $100.00 in the bottom of the box. It is now in my pretty cup and saucer cabinet.
