Good morning folks.

I thought that little quiz was cute.

I was stumped on the math one as well and I deal a lot in numbers .... 🙂

a new day is upon us...a renewed reason to be thankful no matter what we may be encountering ... as there is truly a God whose heart is touched by all our troubles and in whom we can find all our answers if only we will truly listen and trust.

Take care all.

The secret to the math one is to first add all the 1000's and then go back and add the numbers that differ.

It was a fun quiz. If you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh with?

Good evening to all,

Andrew--you always find the most interesting things--I will have to try Google more often. Hope Gary sees your post.

Welcome 2ws.

Susan, I did not get the math--that did not shock me but sure humbled me enough to be glad of the 2(!) I got right.

Twogooddogs--the Bishop is very moving. I got a mental picture of him preaching in our tiny church, all of us seniors, and I can't wipe the grin off my face. They may be old, but they would love it. Well.....most of them.

Amen, Dove3Ducks.

Have a good night everyone.

God is good. He only wants to bless us.

Yes Nikki, Bishop Tudor is moving, it's a great series posted on you tube. If you have time check out the rest of his revelations.
I missed him in T.O. last year, but looking forward to his return.

We LOVE men filled with the FIRE of the Holy Spirit!
Let love rule.

"this one has got to be meant for Gary ...."

Andrew, that is great stuff. All creatures God given including my Abby as seen here on point. Not a front foot as usual but a hind foot up. Guess that was the one that was up when she froze. My Son's untrained German pointer rushed in and flushed the pheasant before we were ready for it.

"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."--Unknown

an example of something I found on that site is called life explained ....

Life Explained

One day, God created the dog and said:
"Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years."
The dog said: "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?" So God agreed.

On the next day, God created the monkey and said:
"Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span."
The monkey said: "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?" And God agreed.

On the next day, God created the cow and said:
"You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."

The cow said: "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?" And God agreed again.

Then on the next day, God created man and said:
"Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years."
But man said: "Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God, "You asked for it."
So that is why the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

So now you understand life.

That's a good site, Andrew. I love the Art of Marriage poem. I am going to copy it (properly credited of course!) and give it to my DS and almost DIL at their wedding shower next week.

I am off to fill all the bird feeders--we have a huge flock of tiny birds that have arrived and they have almost cleaned out the feeders. Hope everyone has a good day.

We pray and give thanks for this beautiful day. We know that God in His infinite wisdom has a plan for each of us. We know sickness and worry are not part of His plan, so we as Him today to remove all cancer, worry and fear from our lives. We pray whatever challenges we may face, we can rest in the confidence knowing our Great Protector and Healer is always by our side working miracles on our behalf.

We are so very thankful for the gifts that are bestowed on our life and the privileged of knowing You better dear Lord.
We know you hear our prayers today.
In Jesus name,
Amen

How is your FIL, Andrew? He and your family continue in my thoughts and prayers.

DS got married this weekend. It was a real celebration. Our entire family was there, and most of his new family's. They had guests from Dubai, U.S. (Hawaii, Minneapolis, New York, New Orleans, Minneapolis, Chicago) and Canada--Toronto, Vancouver, & Victoria. It was so touching that the Moms with small children came. One flew in from Hawaii with 3 under 8)my daughter was there with her 2 and we had a Mom with a 4 month old. They made the effort to be there, to bless this marriage.

Her parents have been married 42 years, we are coming up on our 41st this month. I am glad that this couple have the example of what can be. I know it is not a 100% guarantee of success. I also know that marriages can succeed without a good example. DH is from a broken home and it has always been his intention to be a good husband and partner.

I am feeling very, very blessed tonight.

good evening nikki ... so very nice to hear of the family wedding ... it sounds to have been a truly blessed occasion ....

And thank you for your thoughts and prayers for my FIL.
Truly our God is a caring God. Many family members held him up before the throne of mercy while the operation was underway.

He is in his mid seventies and this for any age was a serious enough an operation. He had a spot (cancer) removed from one of his lungs.

Wthin two days he was up about, and tormenting the nurses. Home within 6 days and now out and about driving his car to friends and the horse farm he goes to etc. Has been listing his wares back on ebay.

He is not supposed to do much lifting yet so DW gets the pleasure of going to the store with him and filling the cart for him. She is hoping that by the end of the week she will be heading home ...

Between his positive attitude and the loving care of God he is progessing rather well ... egad if it was me I'd still be flat on my back 🙂
