The unpleasantness just may help them. It was what made me finally stand up.

How true nikki - Must admit I don't often say much, but when the attacks start, I feel my back going up ! An interesting comment was made on 'The View' the other day while they were interviewing Kirk Cameron - nice young man who was on Family Ties and is a proclaimed Christian, I think it was Whoopie who said that Christianity was an unpopular religion in Hollywood - and he was a brave young man for sticking to his beliefs !

Good afternoon folks. .... hope everyone is well and to be found at peace. Long weekend ahead of us and I suspect many have plans ... I hope all turns out as you would have and even more.

Received the following this morning and enjoyed it very much .. so would like to pass it along ... enjoy your weekend everyone.

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2

Have you ever wondered how significant the word “therefore” is in Scripture? It serves as a significant turning point in the text. The proceeding verses build a case, then the verses that follow “therefore” emphasize (because of what has been said) that we should either rejoice in what follows, or take action in the challenge that is given. Look at these significant examples.

“THEREFORE”…[the pivotal point of significant liberation]...“there is NOW NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus, because, through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:1-2). What a change from all that we were in sin, to all HE has purchased and provided for us. From condemnation to justification, because we are now “in Christ.” And what does this justification mean now that we are in Christ? Paul says remember, you were separated from God, you were foreigners to the covenant of promise, you were without hope and without God in the world…BUT NOW, you are in Christ Jesus.

“THEREFORE”…[the pivotal point in relationship]...“you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone” (Ephesians 2:19-20). Great is the reconciling grace of God. From "foreigners" we are now "members" of the family of God. We have an entirely new perspective on life. We have been “born again” by the might of God’s power. The old things that attracted us because of our sinful nature can now be overcome by the new spiritual nature He has given us.

“THEREFORE”…[the pivotal point of change]…“if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). All of this is of God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ Jesus, and gave us this “ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18). As believers, God has “given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these we might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:4). Our whole life has been transformed, having been made a new creation in Christ.

“THEREFORE”…[the pivotal point of admonition]…“brethren, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter” (2 Thessalonians 2:15). Paul challenges every believer to be a steadfast, faithful, servant of God. Servanthood carries with it the "stigma" of Christ. Paul encourages believers to manifest love to each other…don’t forget the stranger, remember those less fortunate, keep your lives free from the love of money and adultery, and be content with what you have. Paul encourages these believers to imitate the faith of their leaders who spoke and lived faithfully for the ONE who redeemed them, and who now proclaim His salvation.

“THEREFORE”…[the pivotal point of challenge]…“Since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us” (Hebrews 12:1).

My D Nephew has had a tough year. On Monday, he was driving to work, someone ran a stoplight and his car was totaled. He and his GF have been saving a year for a trip to Paris so he could meet the rest of her family. They were booked to fly out on Sunday--unfortunately with Zoom Airlines which went bellyup yesterday. When his GR's boss heard the news he gave her a large bonus so she could buy new tickets! Aren't there some very nice people in this world?

Just came back from my sisters--they are all so relieved and happy. They will leave a little later in the day, and come home a day early, but they get to go. I am so happy for them. They have been working 2 jobs for 5 months to get the extra money. I know in the big scheme of things, this is pretty small potatoes, but I am so glad these kids will get their trip.

Hi, just doing some research on what I consider to be one of my favourite hymns: The Weight by The Band.

Although not really a hymn, it has many direct and some more obscure references to Christ. Today, instead of just making my general knowledge work for me, I am looking up the specific scriptures and facts that are relevent. My idea of fun.
Solsbury Hill and Kyrie are two other great songs that make reference to Christ. Any body got any other rock'n'roll hits that do the same? Susan

Interesting research Susan. If you put something together on that, I would love to see it.

It isn't R&R, but I love Kris Kristofferson's "Why me Lord?"--nothing obscure in the lyrics, but on days that I feel so unworthy of His blessings, it comes to mind. I guess the whole thing is although we may not always seem to deserve the blessings, blessed we are.

Kim--I hope you have the best trip ever!

Have good weekends, all.

This has got to be one of my favourites. It aired on both country stations and easy listening stations. (Although I wouldn't neccessarily classify it as 'rock' ;-)). People sang it with no idea as to what the lyrics really meant (I loved it!!).

"I can only imagine what it will be like, when I walk by your side"....although as Christians, isn't that what we attempt to do on a daily basis?

...and thanks Nikki :-x. I will try my hardest to have a good time!

Lovely! Lovely! Lovely!

Hi All!

I am also a born-again, spirit-filled, blood-washed christian, since five years of age! Furthermore, proud to be one!

I have just recently purchased two pair of earrings from
an E-Bay Seller that goes by the name of:

jewelelryauctioneer - 181918 - *red star -

I bought two pairs of earrings from him. He states that both pairs of earrings are both 10 carat Gold. The gems are both "different types of gems", for which, I do not have a problem with at all.

He said he gets all of his jewellery directly from the manufacturer and that nothing is fake. He is from
Honolulu, Hawaii.

I have only spent approximately sixty-six dollars, consequently, I am not alarmed, but, more curious.

Can anybody assist me with the enclosed enquiry?
Again, I am merely curious.

Does anybody have a moment to check out his E-Bay
Store at:

jeweleryauctioneer (181918)

Please (if you have a moment) try to follow-up with this concern with me and for me ...

Thank-you ever so much, indeed.

Sincerely,

"GemOfAGal" ...

God Bless You!

Hi Gem,

Welcome! Wish I could help, but I don't know anything about jewelry. When I am going to bid on anything, I read the feedback. So far that has worked for me. Hope everything turns out well for you.
