Too bad it comes too late for ebay sellers.
Of particular importance: "With continued progress, we are now in a position to restore our normal holiday delivery service guarantees for much of the country. This means Canadians can expect normal holiday delivery timelines for parcels. The exception remains items headed to or departing Vancouver as backlogs there continue to cause additional delays."
It's excellent news for shoppers but I cannot help but think it comes a few days too late for the average ebay seller. Like me: toys at Christmas. I had a blip of sales yesterday with folks being concerned about delivery in time for Christmas but after this, I expect to serve only customers via Local Pickup until Christmas comes and people have gift money to spend.

Somehow I am not surprised.

This report by Canada Post appeared in the Winnipeg Free Press today, December 19.
The Postal Union's view that the backlogs were "fake" was noted.....
The backlog was still noted in British Columbia...... and there is a view that mail coming from outside Canada may be delivered in early January..
People were mailing less parcels in 2018 than in 2017, and this resulted in a smaller backlog than was expected by Canada Post.
Canada Post should be totally back to normal in early 2019.

I'm sure that overseas postal administrations took Canada Post's warning seriously.
For domestic mail- we'll see.
