Justin Trudeau meets with hunger striking chief Theresa Spence

OTTAWA — Like many Canadians, Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence spent a quiet Christmas morning with her family, opening presents with two of her five daughters.

But far from her home on James Bay, Spence entered the third week of a hunger strike Tuesday, an action she says won’t end until Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Gov. Gen. David Johnston agree to sit down and talk about Canada’s treaty relationship with First Nations leadership.

She did have a visitor on Boxing Day, however, Liberal Leadership hopeful Justin Trudeau came by to meet with the First Nations leader.

“It was deeply moving to meet [Theresa Spence] today. She is willing to sacrifice everything for her people. She shouldn’t have to,” Trudeau wrote on twitter.

Forget Lavant for a moment and look at the reports he unveiled in the video. The unaudited salary report that Lavant showed was bad enough, wonder what the Federal audit will reveal due out this month. Hopefully just the facts and nothing but the facts.

Isn't it great that we are all allowed to voice our differing opinions without being ridiculed.

I would like to know how all these protestors, dancers and blockaders get so much time off work. I do know if I told my boss I wanted even one day off to participate in any of these activities I would be shown the door.

The idlers are demanding to not be idle, by idling.  Kinda like when a Union stops working, (ie. idling on picket lines) cause they want to work.  Makes perfect sense. no?

Levant has a long media record of racist and bigoted views and he could crawl under a snake while wearing a top hat.

Maybe they have time off….maybe they took shifts on the blockades….maybe they are on holiday like I am…..maybe some of them are self employed ……and maybe a lot of other reasons….other than what some people insinuate.

Personally, I fire bigots and racists very quickly. Then again…..I’d never hire them in the first place if I know what they are. They can join Levant in the cesspool.

What I find so interesting about racists and bigots in the media is they never have the courage to go to the people they verbally attack and try to do it face to face.

I suppose that's what they have been like all their lives.
