UK sellers say eBay removed all of their listings over a VAT compliance issue they blame on the company, which had previously told them a notice of noncompliance was a glitch. Some sellers are laying off staff, according to a poster on the AuctionBytes Blog, who wrote:
"All these sellers were correctly registered for VAT. It's eBay's programming that has royally cocked up. These sellers have lost all their items history, years of advertising, reviews, various links etc and eBay has even tried to charge some of them for relisting. Some are already laying off people and closing shop."
Well at least here in Canada it's mostly about
