What Do You Think Of My user id? Any Other Suggestions?

Hello I have changed my user id to "bracedout" because I have just invented a special type of brace for carrying bags which is very small and attaches to your belt. Anyhow I have only sold a few on ebay so far in the last 3 weeks, but I have gotten some really great feedback about them, plus some very strong testimonials outside of ebay. Anyhow I am wondering if my userid may be a turn off ,and could actually discourage people from trying my invention. Therefore I wanted to make sure that I am not overreacting, before I change my userid again. Any other names you think may be suitable are certainly welcome. I am thinking about using "belt brace",since that is what it is,but this may sound a bit too geneic perhaps.

It sure catches your attention.

I take it the product is also user friendly with environmental bags.

Still makes a good point in regards to a potential wardrobe malfunction & a heavy plastic bag tearing at the bottom.

"The problem I see is that if someone had to suddenly use their hands they'd have to let go of the case and if it's heavy it might be a problem, especially if someone's pants are loose.

It's hooked onto the belt loops on a pair of pants, isn't it"

Not sure what you mean at all, since there is no problems using this that wouldnt be there when carrying bags just as usual without the brace. It is very easy to get your hand(s) out of them. If you are interested to see a video of how it works close up go to youtube and search "belt brace inventor "

thanks for the encouragement anyhow

I apologize brace for thinking earlier that this was just advertising. Re-thinking it, you are sincere. I wish you all the best of luck in 2013 for your new venture.

I see a bigger problem ..They barely sell and when they do caculating your time into it your losing money every sale..

They look well like junk strapped together...

Mass produce or save yourself now and give up on it.. I mean it is not a horrible idea it is just well junk tied together with nothing medical backing what your claiming doesn't help either even though i can see how it might give some relief but having anything tug on one side of your body is no good for your back, spine and hips so as much as it might help the shoulder it really screws up alot of other things.. ..

Sorry I don't mean to bash it but i guess it really does seem like a red green thing with very little potential and market ..

At first I thought that the bags were clipped onto the brace but I just watched a different video.

One thing the Dragon's would ask is how much have you spent on this.  In bradedout's case the answer would be very little and that's a big plus.

The fact that it does not look professional at this point is not relevant.

Consider it a prototype to be polished later.

I'm not so sure that there is no market for this.

Not that long ago I had very serious problems with my back/hips/legs and carrying stuff was a huge problem.

I have about a dozen aids I tried, none of which worked, but all were bought in reputable health stores and made great claims.

The videos I've watched show younger people demonstrating the brace, but IMO the target group is older.

I wouldn't dismiss it so easily.

Also, consider combining it with a back brace......

Obviously the price the too low, but for now that's OK.

In time with a lot of polishing etc. it might not be a bad idea.

"They look well like junk strapped together"

Not sure what you mean by this at all, since they are simply two things joined together. One is a carabiner, which is something that many people wear on their belts already for different reasons, usually as a key chain or to hold other things. They are very polished in their appearance, shiny and smooth. The other component is just a piece of a belt, which  has been made to be a fashion accessory, especially for women, since they are the ones more likely to use fabric belts, men usually use leather ones.Women as you probably know, are usually careful to buy things that don't look like junk. Anyhow this piece of belt is joined together by two small rivets. This is the only part that may not be too professional, since once in a while the rivet wont be perfectly flat on the inside ,so the edge will stick up a bit,and could possibly feel like it is cutting the skin, although I have never actually cut myself with one. I have had somebody who specializes in new product launches look at this, and he is very interested in helping me along with it. This was the only thing he could find with it that needs some improving. Anyhow I see this as a very minor issue, since I'm sure very soon someone will suggest a solution to this minor detail. I should also point out that the rivets can be placed to the back of the hand where the brace is touching the clip ,and this way they are out of the way completely ,and it will stay in place very well while using it.

"having anything tug on one side of your body is no good for your back, spine and hips"

I certainly wouldn't agree with this . I have been using it for several weeks now,and I carry around quite a bit of weight most days, because I like to use it to do exercise with it. I carry around a dumbbell set in a case which is about 30 lbs for maybe about 20 minutes, and afterwards I always feel so good all over,no pain at all in the back hips or shoulder. I certainly do get a great pump to my arm and shoulder though, and this gives me great confidence that I have done something very positive to improve my health. I will even carry it up the stairwells sometimes, and this gives me a great workout all over as you can imagine, and I feel like I have excellent control over what I am doing the more I do it. I believe it is just a matter of time before many more people catch on to this. The fact that it is winter here is certainly a serious impediment to its use spreading as it should, since it is quite a bit more difficult to use with a big coat on. Therefore people are much less likely to see others using it,and asking them about it.

I'll be watching for it.

Even the name is starting to sound pretty good.

The more I see it, the more I think it could work.

One problem you have is that it obviously looks like a carabiner and people will think that they could just slap one together themselves.

IMO you might have to "Make it Your Own" by developing the clip just for the BracedOut thingy.

thanks alot Im still here . I should have pointed out that the belts that I use for these have been specially chosen, and they are very hard to find around town, especially now that I have bought most of them up,at least in the areas I have checked downtown.

If a flimsier belt is used thenm it wont give the proper support to hand, and if a firmer belt is used, like leather or firm fabric, then it will feel like it is cutting into the hand and will quickly feel uncomfortable to use.

Anyhow I sent a request for a sample to a belt manufacturer in China the other day for a belt that looks quite similar to the type I am using.  This morning I got a replay back, saying that they could also manufacture the piece themselves. They didnt have a pic ,so I sent them one. I am hoping they will be able to join it together seamlessly or nearly seamless,so that it would be much better than using a couple ratchets. This would certainly make it more appealing, and so would make it much less likely people would spend the time and money on making their own, which wouldnt be as good as the ones I would have anyhow. Of course this would also allow me to charge a couple extra bucks for it too.

I just found this device on the net last night, and thought I would share it since it is likely the closest thing to my invention. So close yet still so far . I sent them and eamil last night wishing them a happy new year, and provided a link to my video on youtube of the pretty lady demonstrating the brace.

IMO you could either charge $5 for this and leave it really plain.  In other words, at that price it more or less looks like a home-made device with potential.

or............

If you develop it well there's no reason you couldn't be asking $24.99 for a base model and up from there.

To me it really seems like something for the older crowd suffering with poor hips etc.

That's a huge market right now.

Well I would certainly like to do that but Im a bit worried people might not pay it. I suppose I could have a market research study done once it starts takling off which would give me a better idea of what people would pay. For now though my main concern is just to get it out there so people are using it,talking about it ,showing it to other people and so on. I dont think raising my price to $24.99 right off the bat before there is a general concensus on its effectiveness will help its success  Sure after a while I can add things like flags, logos, rock band patches, and for some higher end ones perhaps some gemstones.

I agree there will be many in the senior community who will benefit greatly from it,and that segment of society will be steadily growing for at least another 30 years. However,I am sure that the younger crowd will adopt it as well, especially when it comes to the exercising applications it offers.I was doing my exercises as described earlier about an hour ago, came into my room to make my last post, had an almost uncontrollable urge to go back and do some more,so I did. I must have climbed 50 flights of stairs in the two sessions. A month ago I couldnt even do this without carrying a dumbell set.  Anyhow I have changed my attitude about exercise 180 degrees, and I am starting to reap the benefits in a very dramatic way, since I feel like a completely different person now. I felt like an old man wiating to die before( I just turned 48 last Tuesday) , now I feel about as good as I have ever felt in my life and fully intend to keep getting stronger, and better overall.

I just thought I would add a pic of my left arm ,which Ive been kind of obsessing about, since it wasnt nearly as strong about 6 weeks ago as it is now. I think it is really starting to show which Im quite happy about since I was getting way to thin ,so my self esteem certainly wasnt too good.  As if dealing with all the pain I was in wasn't bad enough.
