I would like to see you come to Barrie Ontario, or Orillia Ontario. I live in Midland and these would be the two largest centers where you could host such an event. I have no plans to drive to Toronto for a seminar, It is too far away.

1) Did you attend an eBay.ca On The Road event?
__ yes, in 2004 - Calgary

2) What did you like about the eBay.ca On The Road events?
Meeting new people

3) What are the top five (5) things you would you like to see at an event like this?
__ more interaction with staff
__ more Question & Answer period
__ the ability to purchase eBay.ca branded merchandise
__ tax and legal advice for running a business on eBay
__ more of a trade show environment

4) Do you have any comments or suggestions for the content of the:
Super Selling Course - We actually found this to be quite boring. There really was not anything that they touched base on that we did not already know.
We already knew about how stores and keywords work, and how to use the search function.
There has to be something else out there to keep the interest of the more 'seasoned' seller. Most of the topics covered could have been part of the beginner group instead.
There were a few of us that left early.

5) Are you a PowerSeller?
No - I don't think that I would want to be either.

6) If we changed one thing about eBay.ca On The Road, what would make it better?
I like the idea of a 'trade show' atmosphere. Have an all-day thing where different sellers can set up booths where they can show off their wares (not necessarily for sale) and where sellers can get together and exchange experiences and ideas.

7) What is the one thing we should definitely not change about the On The Road events?
Different seminars for different levels of users.

8) How many seminars do you attend every year?
This was the first eBay seminar, but I attend a couple each year for merchandising and marketing.

9) What city/town and province do you live in? Calgary, AB

10) Would you be interested in learning how to teach an eBay course in your area - maybe in the future

I didn't go, I was sicker then a dog.

But my one comment is why the hoot do you do them DOWNTOWN?

With crazy traffic, outrageous parking ect. Why couldn't ebay look at places outside of the downtown core to hold these events??

Before I got so sick, I had planned to go to the Edmonton one. The daunting task of driving to the downtown core of Edmonton scared the heck outta me.....

Should have added to my comments above: The venue for On the Road events needs better handicapped/disabled access than the sessions had at UBC in Vancouver. I was only on crutches but what a pain in the butt to get to, into, out of and from that theatre.

Barrie would be great I won't go to Toronto but Barrie is only about an Hour away and that wouldn't be to bad.

I have suggested to Carly a few times that eBay add an event in Barrie.

Carly told me that the majority of registered users in Ontario live within a one hour drive of Toronto. However, there are many people that live in the communities outside of Barrie, that feel Toronto is too far to drive.

I still believe a Barrie event will be very well attended.

If eBay holds an event in Barrie, and it is not well attended, I will eat my shorts.

1) Did you attend an eBay.ca On The Road event?
Yes, in 2003. In 2004, I just popped in to say hi - I did not stay for the session.

2) What did you like about the eBay.ca On The Road events?
The best thing is the networking - both with eBay staff and with other eBay users in your area. For most of us posting here, we rely on the boards for advice and assistance. But a large majority of eBayers never come here. Where do they go to ask questions? So, the OTRs are very helpful in that way. In general, I felt the session was well presented. The venue was accessible and eBay staff made sure my disability-related needs were met, which I greatly appreciated.

3) What are the top five (5) things you would you like to see at an event like this?
__ more breakout groups
__ more interaction with staff
__ more tips on how to run a business
__ the ability to purchase eBay.ca branded merchandise
__ tax and legal advice for running a business on eBay
__ sourcing inventory

4) Do you have any comments or suggestions for the content of the:

Super Selling Course
Super Selling is great for people who are just starting to sell. I picked up tips last year that I have incorporated, such as including s/h rates for international destinations and the importance of a logo and business cards.

However, the vast majority of the information consisted of stuff I already knew. I would suggest two separate seller's courses - one for people who want to sell, or who have begun selling recently, and one for people who want more indepth info (ie taxes, customs, inventory, trademark usage, etc.)

5) Are you a PowerSeller? If so, what would you like to see at an event like eBay.ca On the Road? How would you like to be included in an event such as eBay On The Road?

n/a

6) If we changed one thing about eBay.ca On The Road, what would make it better?

More opportunities for the attendees to interact with each other. In 2003, the session was a full day, with munchies and a chance to mingle at the end. However, I would think many people likely skipped that part to get home to their families. For day-long sessions, perhaps a longer lunch break and a place to socialize would be a better plan.

7) What is the one thing we should definitely not change about the On The Road events?

The goodie bags! lol I love that stuff and it's great advertising for eBay.

😎 How many seminars do you attend every year?

3-4 work-related events.

9) What city/town and province do you live in?

Saskatoon, SK
10) Would you be interested in learning how to teach an eBay course in your area? Yes / No (if “yes” please send your contact details to moira@ebay.com).
Yeah, for sure! I will e-mail you.

1) Did you attend an eBay.ca On The Road event?
* yes, in 2003

2) What did you like about the eBay.ca On The Road events?
* It was an enlightening experience - lets you know that you are not alone out there. Too often - sitting behind the computer at the desk makes one feel as if they are isolated. This way - you get to meet other eBayers - can ask questions directly, etc. Meeting the real eBay staff was super.

3) What are the top five (5) things you would you like to see at an event like this?
* more interaction with eBay staff
* more Question & Answer period
* help on my particular issues
* stories / testimonials from PowerSellers or other sellers who have built a business on eBay
* tax and legal advice for running a business on eBay

4) Do you have any comments or suggestions for the content of the:
* All the courses: I would like to see the prairie courses available earlier in the year - too many people are busy with harvest in one way or another and can't get out to the autumn courses.

5) Are you a PowerSeller? If so, what would you like to see at an event like eBay.ca On the Road? How would you like to be included in an event such as eBay On The Road?
* I enjoyed being part of the welcoming team. I still think that more specific information should be covered - perhaps a separate 1 hour session with the eBay staff after the rest of the course is over?

6) If we changed one thing about eBay.ca On The Road, what would make it better?
* It was great overall! See above for other suggestions.

7) What is the one thing we should definitely not change about the On The Road events?
* Having the "pinks" eBay staff there. I believe it is important that the "personal" contact remain.

9) What city/town and province do you live in?
* Winnipeg, Manitoba

10) Would you be interested in learning how to teach an eBay course in your area? Yes / No (if “yes” please send your contact details to moira@ebay.com).
* Yes, absolutely!

I wish you:
Smiles when sadness invades you.
Confidence when you have doubts.
Comfort when you need it most.
Friends to light up your life.
Rainbows to climb up to the heavens on.
