HST on good sold in USA to USA buyer

Hmmm... checking over my sales recently, and notice the eBay is charging HST on my good, listed and sold in the USA, and to USA buyers.

It's impossible to reach a human at ebay, so my buyers are stuck with an additional 13% charge for a transaction that takes place within the USA.  Extrajurisdictional taxing - wow!

I have no way to communicate this to eBay, and get them to change - my listings all show tax at 8% for New York State, nothing about Canadian HST.

I've lost at least one recent sale when the buyer received an invoice showing an unexpected 13% tax.

The phone reps work for a sub-contractor in Utah, but they are poorly trained and may be unaware of concepts like "Canada".

Tax is always based on the buyers location, not the sellers so it's unlikely that your US buyers are paying hst.  But there are 40+ states that eBay does collect tax from regardless of where the seller is located so perhaps that's the case here?    

Canadian sellers are charged gst etc.  on the fees paid to eBay but that doesn't affect your buyers.
