Here is a partial quick list off the top of my head and/or pointed out by others = Mentioned repeatedly. If I have missed any please feel free to add. Only way we have a chance of getting the playing field leveled.
Shortcomings for eBay Canada:
On USA side from quick testing was able to find 1 minor difference.

They could greatly improve ebay labels by simply expanding what is already working well. Namely, pass ebay label volume discounts through to Canadian sellers at large. Imagine the impactfullnes of every seller having access to much lower rates, especially domestically. The current Tracked Packet USA promo proves the point. Extend and enhance that concept.
Obviously ebay would have reduced shipping fvf revenue unless GMV increased substantially. To be fair, they did get everyone Canada Post level 4 AND expedited lite on top of the tracked packet discount. I doubt it's eBay not wanting to expand it further.
Makes one go hmmm when Small Packet Air has been removed from the dropdown as an option for US shipping.

@flipistics wrote:I don't see why they couldn't offer EIS to Canadians selling on dot ca with us just shipping the items to the USA hub. The shipping costs are a little bit more for us to get the item there, but at least with the current light packet rate they aren't absurd.
Well, to get the item down to the eIS hub, it would need a customs form and that goes quite a ways in negating the whole point of eIS. Also, aren't most Canadian eBay sellers' international sales going to the US, anyway?

If I remember correctly in the podcast previously mentioned Griff and Brian suggested Canadians should list on dot com. I wonder if sellers in Alaska and Hawaii use EIS. Do they ship their stuff to Chicago?
I haven't heard definite confirmation of other eIS hubs, although there are suggestions that there might be something in California for items going across the Pacific.

Yes sir, it is 100% dotcom programming aimed at helping their U S. resident sellers. Outsiders that sell on DOTcom are very seldom acknowledged, I think they are being a little disrespectful in that regard.
I think it's a bit much to expect one eBay site to provide selling infrastructure (e.g. taxable income reports, calculated shipping) for several different nations. I can't say that I've seen other eBay sites acknowledge sellers from other countries. eBay Ireland doesn't seem to acknowledge other Euro countries, for example.

Well, I'm talking about access to eIS for overseas sales, not to the USA. Canadians selling on dot com can do it when shipping with a cross border shipper so I don't see any regulatory reason it wouldn't work, but many of us don't have access to one. Simply allowing us access to it on dot ca along with the negotiated small packet rates would seem like a win for everyone.

Re:Using funds for making eBay purchases on ca. Possible for ages on dot com.
Stumbled across this from Tyler in 2021. Guess it hasn't happened...as of yet? Silly eternal optimism!!
"I think this lays the groundwork for us to see the option to use funds to purchase on eBay as well, though don't quote me, just my personal opinion. "

According to an article that I read the other day Canadian sellers account for 1% of the total sellers on ebay. US sellers account for about 32%. I don't know how accurate those numbers are but if they are even close, it makes sense why they invest more time and energy into programs in the US than they do for ones in Canada.

According to that page there are 180 employees in the Canadian office. But for some reason there is no Canadian presence as far as we know for dedicated customer service. They "in theory" should have an IT department that deals specifically with Canadian issues. Anyone here that has been around long enough knows there have been a bunch of times when the release of features were promised to Canadian sellers but were either big time delayed or NOT fully tested when implemented.

I read somewhere else that there is still an ebay office in Toronto but I thought it was closed years ago. But as I said, even if the percentages are not accurate, there are way less users on this site. There are less people in Canada so it makes sense that there are less sellers and less buyers. Maybe in a perfect world we could expect to see things exactly the same between the two sites but that isn't going to happen. The chance of that happening is just as likely as Canada Post changing their domestic retail rates to the same as the USPS rates. It isn't going to happen.
I honestly don't remember anyone ever saying we would definitely get something that hasn't been followed through eventually. I remember in some cases that they were optimistic that we would get some feature that someone had been asked about but I don't remember any definitive answers about it. The quote you gave from Tyler in post 27 is an example of someone that was not a promise from ebay.
As far as things not being tested before being implemented, that isn't pecular to this site. They do the same thing on the .com site. But they do seem to maintain the .com shipping calculator much better than the .ca. That is one thing here that seems to be a constant problem.

The big one that comes to mind as per an official announcement was the increase for basic store. Believe that was well over a year. There was a major delay for the option to turn on the discount for shipping. The bugs still haven't been worked out with the calculator and eBay labels. They have included in posts about a level playing field. If there are features they are unable to be fulfill the transparent thing to do would be upfront about it. And if they commit to something it would seem reasonable for them to follow through.

I'm more than a little annoyed that the tax breakouts for the shipping labels hasn't happened yet. They were hopeful for it to be rolled out prior to the new year as they understand the importance for doing our taxes. I'm going to be REALLY annoyed if I have to calculate it all by hand while not being able to claim a few of the larger shipping labels because they're over the limit for what we can claim without a proper tax receipt.

Do Canadian Store sellers get a Sale tab when they run a promotion.
How it looks for a US registered dot com seller:
How it looks on dot ca: Running a test sale that is live.
One of the above is not like the other!?!

Shortcomings for eBay Canada:
- No access to offering coupons
- Unable to use proceeds for eBay purchases.
- Watcher numbers do not display when using dot ca
- No option with on ca to choose length of time for offers. COM is 24 or 48 hours from what has been shared.
- Available Condition options/Categories routinely vary between the 2 sites. In theory they should mirror eachother. Re: Categories - Duplicates, different titles, empty folders, missing names...
- Missing store size options
- Shipping labels on CA is not as fully loaded when compared to dot com
- Shipping labels was not released fully functioning. Known reported issues still apply
- eBay seller postage calculator is still not fully functional for CP available services.
- No user groups on ca. For many that would be a helpful addition. Different markets different rules.
- No side access to delivery options. Missing Deals and Savings feature on dot ca
- Delivery estimates for CP services do not match as per CP. As a side CP no longer provides an estimate for small packet air services. USA and Intl. both show up with a similar time frame as tracked. UK shows 7 to 15 days for small packet from Calgary. Same window to USA. 1 day less for Intl tracked. Actual timeframe would depend on where seller is located - where buyer is located and where item would get cleared for customs and time to process.
- Not the same options for payments. ((Missing Discover)
On USA side from quick testing was able to find 1 minor difference.
- US buyers are unable to search by location. To choose from Canada as an example. We are able to choose Canada, North America & Worldwide
Note: Your personal requirements (wants or needs) and observations for missing features may vary.
14. Variation listings on ca have limited options compared to what is available on dot com.

Any news on when the above features + Volume pricing/Automated Best Offer and any others that were added to this thread will be available to Canadian sellers? Doesn't appear the playing field is entirely level with these longstanding major discrepancies between the 2 sites.
is there some kind of legal reason for Canadian sellers are unable to offer coupons like US sellers can? Only asking for transparency.

I wonder... Is there any developers working on the canadian site anymore? I have a bug that's been there for months... still not fixed.
I'm a developer myself (profesionnally and owning my own dev business)... I just can't understand how can some bugs last that long without being fixed, when it affects paying customers.
Also, if there's a dev team, what are they doing in their shifts? I mean.... Nothing seem to be developed, no new features... bugs are not fixed....

Guessing we are low on any priority list they may have.
For anyone who was unaware the change has kicked in for payment method options.

Plus US sellers are able to use their payouts for ebay purchases. It's called spendable funds.
Canadian sellers cannot.

devon@ebay Please advise re: message 36 also. Message required follow up in May of 2024.
(I realized a few have been fixed from the original list but many have not. "Zombie thread" is more a matter of personal opinion when follow up is low on the priority list with longstanding issues not being resolved or addressed.)
