Seeing lots of inconsistencies with stated delivery estimates. Random zip code parings seem to be ignoring seller handing times. Here is an example of delivery estimates for a listing generated yesterday. Top is with 1 day handling time, bottom is with 4 day handling time. Checked again today, both 1 day and 4 day handling time show the same delivery estimate of the 7th to the 11th which would not be possible if handling times are being accounted for.

It almost looks like certain zip codes pairings will ignore seller handling times, here is an example of the same listing with another zip code where the 4 day handling time is actually used and displayed on screen.

Re: August 5 2020 Weekly Session

Hi Tyler

I have not seen an eBay announcement on this situation. A fellow Canadian seller who has 2 eBay stores, one registered on .com as a Starter Store and one on .ca as a Basic Store, said she saw some extra charges on her recent invoice for the .com Starter store.
She called in and was told by customer service ebay, that the items listed on .ca under the .com Starter store are NO LONGER COVERED by the same amount of freebies on .ca as on .com.
As Canadians, we have always had the same amount of freebies on .com as we do on .ca (and vice versa) whether we have a store or not.
I have an Anchor, so I get 10k on .ca and 10k on .com and 1000 auctions on each under my store subscription.
Ditto for all other store levels, and non-stores.
If this is changing it is a MAJOR change and should be announced well in advance of it happening.
Sellers should not discover it when they receive their ebay invoices.
If this is simply a glitch on her particular store, and not a major change that has not been announced, then I am relieved.
Can you comment / clarify?

Thanks Mandy

Re: August 5 2020 Weekly Session

Just wanted to follow up to see if you have had any updates on the issue I reported here with handling times for any orders with a promotional shipping offer. As of this weekend I'm still seeing these orders come through with no "ship by date" indicating the handling times are still not being factored in.

Re: August 5 2020 Weekly Session

Hello Tyler,

Do you know what is going on with Item Specifics? I had a large quantity of listings that required major updating on the weekend. 30+.  Most of those updates were for specifics added to the original listing. Aeons/Eons ago. Some were already added manually, at the same time because they were not factored in by eBay. I had one yesterday for a book. It was missing the title. Major head scratcher. Book - Title would be an automatic with first listing. Today a listing several years old now requiring updating where all fields are magically blank. Only reason it sticks out was because I had to research it the last time to get it to meet eBay's "approval." Some of the required updates/modifications can be as minute as Boy's to Boys. Time consuming to anyone listing clothing. Others like Measurement system:  Inches or Metric??? (Maybe should be Imperial or Metric) . Also, more likely specified originally by a seller.

Creating a listing at the beginning can be a  lot of work. Fixing it after an item specifics implosions gets a hold of it is 20 times the work. There are similar discussions on this major problem on dot com with no proper responses. Some requested updates can be as minute as Boy's to Boys. Others like Measurement system:  Inches or Metric???

Re: August 5 2020 Weekly Session

Hello, I am registered for MP but my account has not been switched over yet. In the past we were told late July? Is there anyway to determine when I will be switched over?

Thanks.

Re: August 5 2020 Weekly Session

I have never had any problems having to add Items Specifics before. The only time I was asked to update was twice in the past that I can remember & it had to deal with vintage purses. Even after I added everything I could it always said there was a problem.  Now since about a month, it says I have 15 items needing updating & most are old listings. And the number keeps rising.  There must be another major glitch going on.

Re: August 5 2020 Weekly Session

Must be, I just had a note to add item specifics to 3 items. What they wanted me to add made no sense at all. I was told to add  custom bundle information even though I had NO for custom bundle. A little while later the item specific was corrected but the request was still there. I revised anyway, added another picture or something and that fixed them.

Re: August 5 2020 Weekly Session

Hi tyler! Today I received an eBay message telling me to leave feedback for 2 items. These 2 items were previously cancelled at request of my buyer who had problems trying to pay for her combined order. They were then auto relisted and one has since been sold to another buyer (and feedback left).

It’s just not possible for me to leave any feedback for these. I am thinking I can just ignore this email? Please advise, thanks!

@2nd-time-around-jewelry

If you click on the update tab and scroll to the bottom you can check the ignore button. Problem is, at least with what I am seeing there are all sorts of variations. From specifics that are definitely required, to things that do not apply whatsoever to lastly, all blank. One that came up on the weekend of mine was for a packaged set of kitchen curtains. Fields required: Smart Home Compatibility & Wifi Protocol.  That was a toss up between laughable and the category I chose...Like really???

Re: August 5 2020 Weekly Session

@msmaggie060

Feedback is always voluntary, but FB can be left for a cancelled transaction, if only to say"thanks for helping me out of this mishmosh".

Similar to the Item Specifics question-- I've been relisting some closed dotCOM listings and a percentage (between 10 and 30 per cent) tell me to redo the weight and dimensions.

A pain but no biggie, except that these are ALL  Flat Rate/Free Shipping where this should not be necessary since for Canada and USA I am using Flat Rate and for International I am supplying a dollar value.

My main concern is that those listings may have been invisible for months because of this unnecessary demand for "missing" information.

@femmefan1946

Had one I updated recently. Been listed for 6 months. Insignificant change. It sold 15 minutes after the update. Coincidence? Who knows?

Revised count requiring updates...146. Agreed. The concern would be how this affects visibility. 20% of my listings.

Re: August 5 2020 Weekly Session

Tyler, as of this morning, all 3 listings I fixed are back again showing I need to add a bundle description to my item specifics. I don’t have “bundles” of items and all say NO under the item specific “bundle”. Definitely some kind of programming glitch!

Category seems to be Home & Garden - Kitchen & Bar - Linens & Textiles

Can you please get this annoying problem fixed? Thank you!

As per your post:

I have not received a credit or a message from ebay.

Any idea what is going on?

Hi @mandicrafts  - I am not aware of any change to the way you can use your store insertion credits.

If this particular member saw charges from the 31st of July that would be due to a technical issue that impacted both .ca and .com accounts. If that's the case they should keep an eye on their eBay message center for more details on how that will be rectified.

If they're seeing charges from outside of that time I would have them post on the boards and tag me so I can have a closer look. Thanks!
