Can I trust the number, 45% of savings complared to regular Canada Post shipping rates?
Anybody checked on that claim? Sounds too good to be true to me given my experience with ebay. Why on earth wouldn't ebay want to get the 45% discount from Canada Post and keep it for ebay as a profit. Sounds to me too good to be true.
If that is the case... let's assume, anybody tested the rates against say ChitChats rates?
Secondly what it doesn't say where these savings are. Is it cross Canada. Is it also to US? How about international?
As always, ebay, murky murky is my jerky.
Here is the ebay announcement:

"you can save up to 45% compared to rates you’d pay at the post office"
There is probably one or two shipping labels you could purchase that would be 45% cheaper but that is NOT an across the board discount level.
The discount is compared to RETAIL prices and the biggest discounts are probably for International Xpresspost or other services that few people use.
From what people have posted here recently it seems like the eBay discounts are the same (or possibly less) than what you can get from ANY postage providor (PayPal, Shippo, NetParcel or direct from CP) with a Level 1 discount.

Note the wording: "You can save up to 45%. . ."

As much as you can trust Canada Post; the number is from their own advertising.
Why on earth wouldn't ebay want to get the 45% discount from Canada Post and keep it for ebay as a profit.
Because everyone would immediately flee to Shippo or Snap Ship to get the same savings.
Secondly what it doesn't say where these savings are. Is it cross Canada. Is it also to US? How about international?
For any parcel or packet, shipped anywhere. See Canada Post's page about Shipping discounts for small businesses for details (including some more realistic percentages).

Tracked Packet International, apparently.
Part of me wants to try to figure out which country/weight combination hits this jackpot. ☺
