Sales Tax in the US can be extremely complicated.
Taxing is based on state.... and sometimes on the basis of municipality, region and even smaller area within a region.
In many situations US sellers have to collect these taxes..... the different levels of tax.
There is no federal sales tax in the US... on all items sold in the US....
One must then conclude that TaxJar makes this collection and remittance to the proper authority much easier than keeping track of each transaction.
In the US taxation starts with 50 states..... and then many subdivisions.. Not all states levy a sales tax.

Our Canadian tax structure is relative simple and much more easily calculated.
and ......In Canada... it is one government department that controls everything.... the Canada Revenue Agency.
It is doubtful whether something like Taxjar would be allowed in Canada.
