Be alert, the world can use more lerts.

Purge 2.0 is going on down south. The "For No Reason" suspended crowd is showing up on SC dot com. Put yer tin foil hats on.

Re: Be alert, the world can use more lerts.

I've also just heard, first hand, from a previous eBay seller who bailed out of Et-c last week to return to eBay, that Et-c has recently been swamped with big dollar-store type commercial sellers, previously an absolute no-no on that site.  (I assume that's the site you meant by S-C.com?)

EBay can absorb that kind of tsunami to some extent because sellers can offer anything here and the number of potential buyers is enormous, but Et-c has apparently trampled and ruined its traditional hand made/vintage sellers with this latest move.

Well, so much for that idea...I'll stay here and keep my tin foil hat and lead apron on.

Sorry, lingo. Seller Central on the dot com side. This is the second purge in the last four months. Out of the woodwork comes the suspended crying "For No Reason".

Then others start digging and the "FNR" crowd turns out to have abusive behaviour, false positives being left, listing violations, you name it.

Re: Be alert, the world can use more lerts.

Well, the same thing is likely happening over there on Et-c too.  There are always those who think bad behaviour as a seller is a good business strategy.  It may work in the short run, but sellers who run a clean game really don't have to worry about purges and will outlast the riff-raff.

Oh wait, I know where the "FNR" evictees go -- to the eBay Deals section, where it seems you need hundreds of negatives to qualify...

I'll say this: They did away with the usual FB over there and it's nothing but good.

That's the only change I've seen other than an influx of eBay sellers.

Re: Be alert, the world can use more lerts.

The first subject above was about a second, recent "purge" of bad sellers by eBay.  The first purge happened a few weeks ago, to a great hue and cry, but it turned out that the majority of the sellers who had been kicked off the site really were sent packing for good reason, which is what Mr. E was referring to.

My reference was to this thread, which you might find amusing.  The response was no doubt much different than poor Kalvin expected:
