I've been receiving those 500 free listings promos during November, anyway I took the opportunity to relist a few hundred old listings. I always use eBay's bulk editor to do this as there are often format, title and pricing changes to be made. My policy is to limit the number of listings to 25 to 30 per batch thinking this reduces the likelihood of the editor behaving badly.
Well, a word of warning. I discovered today that the editor had somehow altered one old listing by adding Bold Title without any input from me.
Upon reviewing my latest invoice today I was surprised to see a 10.17 charge for Advanced Listing Upgrades. Scrolling through the month's charges line by line I discovered that one of my old listings had mysteriously been listed twice with Bold Title. Another postal card listing had also been charged 1.13 for Gallery Plus, I guess I wrongly assumed that feature was free in the stamp category.
I do NOT, have not EVER used Bold Title yet this listing mysteriously on it's own checked the box. Somehow the editor changed the setting all on it's own. The darn thing relisted twice @ 4.52 a pop, had I not reviewed my invoice this evening this situation would have continued to occur with each relist.
In order to have accidentally made that change myself I would of had to knowingly select just the one listing, then again knowingly select Listing Upgrades from the drop-down menu, then once again knowingly select Bold Title …. a sequence like that is not something one accidentally follows along to the end.
