I would figure out if there was a service that I could use so that the package would reach the buyer by the 18th and then let the buyer know what the extra cost would be. They could decide if they wanted to pay that extra amount. If the buyer is in Canada, xpresspost should get it there before the 18th. If they are in the U.S., xpresspost might work if you mailed it tomorrow but that is cutting it close so I would let them know that you can't guarantee that it would arrive in time. Any faster service to the U.S. would cost a fortune.

What I don't understand is that the buyer wasted 2 days by not paying faster...
If the average IQ is 100, then half the population is under that.
Parcel mail in the USA seems to move faster than Canada Post, although CP is pretty good considering the vast distances they cover. A result is the US buyers are a little spoiled.

Yes, it happened to me a few times, taking time to pay and then demand faster shipping which is unfair demands to sellers at any time.
I hate it but took risk and told them if they want faster shipping, then they have to pay for XpressPost but surprising they accepted and paid for XpressPost and were happy.
I also hate it when they send they are for birthdays, or whatever, it makes me nervous as they can get upset if they don't get them on time, etc.
I always believe if you want something in time for birthdays, etc., they should plan in plenty of time like 1-2 months in advance not like 1 week or less! It is not like we are at WalMart that they can go in and buy them right away.
