Can Buyer Close An Un-escalated Request?

If a buyer opens a request for an item not received, can they close it if they've confirmed they've received it?

They "can".

If they don't it will close on its own eventually.

If there is no tracking showing that an item was shipped, I wouldn’t count on an inr closing on its own. In the 2020 spring update ebay said that they may close an inr after 3 business days even if the buyer did not ask them to step in if there was no proof of shipping.

The request was closed
Buyer closed this request on 17 Jan 2021 because you resolved the problem.

Sorry, I should have looked at the tracking again. I looked yesterday and it showed it was in New York since the 7th.

I'm going to say probably.
