Canadapost Flat Rate Box (CANNOT BE USED!! What a waste of $)

for MONTHS now, I was unable to print a shipping label to make use of these PRE-PAID boxes after selling an item.  Ebay's links only take me to paypal, and paypal for months now will not let me print out a shipping label for these pre-paid flat rate boxes.  I can select other options and PAY AGAIN to use other shipping services, just not the flat rate boxes.  I spent hours on the phone with paypal with no resolution, and when I did a google search on this issue, it appears that it was a VERY common problem that many had experienced for many years now, and NO ONE (not ebay, not paypal) has a solution to this.  The only way around is PAY to use another shipping service.

So Ebay/Paypal/Canadapost sells me these boxes that I must pay ADDITIONAL shipping charges to use them.  If this is not a scam I do not know what is...

After the boxes were cancelled you could still buy labels for them for a number of months.

In any event you always had to print and pay for a label separate from the cost of the box so all you are out is whatever that small amount was. How many of the stupid things did you order?

I knew that was a bad idea when I smelled it. I stayed far away from that one.

If you have good stock of them, try returning them to CanadaPost or insist they fill the promise of a service that came with the boxes.

Btw why they cancelled it ? I thought flat rate service was good idea, although I never used this one myself.

I don't know why they had to cancel it. I used it for selling lots of knitting pattern books and magazines. It worked really well, the boxes were exactly the right size and I could fill them up and still be under the max. weight. Price to the US was fair too.

Wish I'd bought more of the boxes but used mine all up!

I just use them for expedited shipping.  I just print out the shipping label with paypal just like a regular box.  No issues from the post office- they take any boxes even ones marked US postal service.  I don't think they even check the postage we pay...I've always had to adjust the size of the box to fit magazines in anyway and that made it longer than the dimensions it stated.

When these thing came out in 2008 it was a pretty rare situation where they were cheaper than regular Expedited via PayPal. Unlike USPS flat-rate you also had to BUY the boxes.

I had just purchased a package of these flat rate boxes and then, they were cancelled.  I also used them to ship magazines.   They are now card board backing inside envelopes to stiffen / protect delicate items.

Dual purpose, these boxes, oh well!!
